The still image used in the video before you play it made me think of Valve (and their business model) rather than EA.

Then I watch the video and see that it's made using Garry's Mod.

    A little ironic.

Valve is even more evil than EA, they managed to be crazy greedy while looking good doing it.

More importantly they've fooled people into believing that they make good games.

Ok I'm late for saying the exact same thing but yeah. Why is Gabe portrayed as some kind of good guy exactly?

    Cheap games on Steam.

The fact that Valve's own games are decent and that Gabe thinks consoles suck is just icing on the cake.

More than anything I liked the very ending of that video. Those last 5 seconds or so perfectly show what's wrong with pseudo elitists on the Codex

The irony of "gullible tasteless consumer"?

Weren't there rumors about Valve wanting to make a Steambox console popping up on the internet a few weeks back?

Yeah he made gaming a service by innovating the retarded online DRM into every game Valve publishes with a bloatware called Origin enforced on you to play it (or was it called Steam?) which showed to EA how you can rip off sheeple like Alexandros with Steam (oh wait I mean Origin) by making them pay more money than they do for a boxed copy.

Here I thought Valve had essentially made the exact same game, about 20 times, in a genre that's not really hard to screw up in except somehow people do; by overthinking it and throwing in some really dumb stuff. Followed by what Skyway wrote. Where is your Gabe now?

Here's what you guys don't get. The genius of Steam is that it "rips off" people who are willing to be ripped off. While giving :obviously: people (who have patience and impulse control) sweet deals if they just wait a bit.

In short, it gives every customer the price they deserve. What is more just than that?

Yeah ok, I don't have any major problems with Steam. As long as a game doesn't force me to install it on my computer just to play it. Oh wait. Thank goodness for cracks.

So it has discounts (as in selling the game for a real price, not for the same price as boxed copies in case of shitty Steam) months and months later just like every single other shop out there, digital or real?

How to tell if a person has PC for longer than 5 years? A person who doesn't think discounts and bargain bins were invented and exclusively used by Gabe Newell.

Shitty Steam showed that you can add 33% to game's price and sheeple like Infinitron will thank Gabe for that. Before Steam the idea was that digital copies should cost less since there are no expenses related to printing and distribution but thankfully a good guy Gabe changed that.

Just like he made everything possible (called Steamworks) to show devs that you can be lazy and tell fuck you to proper server browsers using shitty lobbies from consoles instead.

In my country, Steam is much cheaper than retail.

As for Steam sales, it's not just getting 75% off on old bargain bin games. It's also getting a 33% percent discount on an AAA game a month after its release.

That probably means you are living in some ass of a world. Because f.e. right now shit like MP3 and GRFS costs the same as boxed copies meaning more than boxed games themselves.

You mean just like every single other shop on Christmas? No fucking way man.
Are you saying Gabe Newell also invented Christmas sales?
