You can respect EE for whatever you want but he is a shit carry. He got carried through first 2 majors despite doing tons of game losing plays.
Also, w33 was not a minimal farm mid, at least not in secret, no idea where you got that from.

I don't hate EE, but he's just too chaotic and inconsistent. He makes some great plays, but also some that baffles scientists. He's like a chaos magnet every team he plays on.

PLD is also a brilliant player that has improved significantly over the years. I really wish that they'd both form a cloud 9 v2 without drama magnets like Puppey and rtz holding them back. EE just needs a mid player that can do work with minimal farm, like w33 did in shanghai so his greedy playstyle can work.

I wouldn't call constantly fucking up pulls for your safelane "brilliant play". PLD had his moments on certain heroes, for example his BH before/during Frankfurt or his Shanghai Lion but apart from those heroes he brings very little to the table. He is one of the weakest early game supports in the scene, which always puts Envy/RTZ on the backfoot, two players who cannot handle playing from behind very well. He is incredibly inactive mostly sitting there pulling, Secret for some reason doesn't stack often especially when they have heroes that would benefit from it. Only time secret stacked camps quite often was when they played against an offlane Darkseer, which is really the only time you DONT stack.

Sorry but stuff like this is unacceptable for a high profile game. When you plan on making this pull you dont pull the creeps from the safelane through the already opened treeline but cut yourself (or have the carry do it with a QB before the rune spawns) a single tree a little further to the left so the creeps are already closer to the med-camp that you're going to pull next. Alternatively you don't cut the tree he did but one a little further to the north. In both clips he had a pretty easy pull because the small-camp creeps stood very close to the center of the spawnbox. Creeps aggro in a 500 range when they have vision or a friendly hero gets attacked in that 500 range. That's why you don't pull the radiant medium camp into the smallcamp by vision. You have the med-camp creeps attack you so your wave aggroes by proximity (and, due to how hitboxes work in Dota, add about 150-200range to those 500). Granted, Ogres are one of the shittier camps to pull due to their low movespeed, but this is largely offset by having the lowest BAT out of any medium camp creeps, enabling you to pull them a little further before they would stop mid-attack to return to their camp.

PLD also managed to stack twice in 10 minutes when SD can easily stack 2-4 camps by himself every minute. TWICE. But it's not like a hero like Alch would benefit from having a lot of stacks to farm... Oh wait.

When you play in an elimination match for TI6, you just don't fuck up stuff like this. Back when I played competitively I would take an extra half hour before official games to get my lane-blocking/creep pulling mojo online so this exact stuff would not happen. I'd excuse this happening once due to nerves or whatever, but having it happen twice is just being bad at your job.

Not me, but I was happy to see that between all the memeing and shitposting some people actually care enough to do some analysis on what happened during a match, especially since support movements/warding doesn't catch the eye of the casters that often. That post was amazing though, whoever did it deserves a prize because it opened a lot of peoples eyes to how stuff like this can influence a game. I lost a game once because our safelaner didn't get a PMS but a Ring of protection instead, losing the safelane in the process and by extension the midgame and the match. The earlier into a game a crucial mistake like this happens, the heavier the impact it has on the remainder of the game. Having the offlaner win against your safelane instead of him having to jungle and freeing up your support movements loses games more often than not using your bkb at the right time. Neither are excusable, but buying the right item or pulling creeps that have set mechanics that bind their behaviour is simply inexcusable.

Agreed. With Dota being such a complex and nuanced game, it's cool to see posts like these. Because naturally the casters don't catch it all.

I also thought the "weather man" segment with Purge was great.

I expect stuff like this or the analyst-table the GD studio used for a while to become a larger part of the after-game analysis, replays have been absent from post-game analysis for far too long. As long as it isn't taking too much time, explaining intricacies like that dude did in his reddit-post is way more entertaining than random "who was MVP" discussions that mostly focus on what was shown on stream already. Oftentimes it's the stuff that goes by unnoticed that actually makes or breaks a game, unless it is something easy to grasp like Liquid not getting BKBs. Everything that gets supports more love but also raises the bar would be appreciated. Support play in general has been pretty sub-par over the years, people seemingly don't care about having actually valuable supports.

Purges segments were a refreshing change of pace, I usually mute Dota streams nowadays because I just cant stand people like ODpixel or LD spouting memes while having little to no game-knowledge and a panel filled with sub 4k "analysts" that try to analyse a game they neither understand nor actively play anymore. Even Merlinis commentary has suffered a lot in the last 2 years because seemingly noone is interested in high-quality commentary anymore.

I got TI withdrawal just like everybody else, but these "Post TI shuffle" threads are 99% rumors, wishful thinking, trolling and speculations.

Wake me up when shit gets publicly announced.

Misery already mentioned in his interview with Kaci that he doesn't enjoy being captain and rather wants to be the guy next to the captain, similar to the Fear<>PPD combination. Doesn'T surprise me since a lot of teams will want most of the players now. The sad part about it is that Resolut1on will most likely move back to a CIS team where his talent will be wasted, Moo will join a trash NA team, Misery/W33ha will get a decent team and Saksa as the best player of the team will probably not find something decent at all. Makes me sad when top-tier supports don't get the recognition or teams they deserve, it took cr1t 3years of subpar T2/T3 teams before he finally got picked up by OG.

Sadly most professional DotA2 players are ginormous Drama queens who after getting kicked by their team secretly change bios or twitter-headers in the hopes of fans noticing the change to stir up Drama, or just post cryptic stuff to keep people guessing. Not sure what keeps them from simply waiting until an official statement is released by the team/organization and part ways with them on a "good" note, even though the split may not have been amicable. Then again the majority of the DotA2 community seems to enjoy it this way, for some reason professionalism is something people demand from organizers or team owners but not their favourite players/casters.

Movespeed buffs are never insignificant. Dota has a lot of ripple effects, something that might seem small at first glance often becomes significant when compounded by other factors - items, auras, etc. Lesh is also very movespeed dependent, because he relies on positioning to land his stun or moving in to burn people down with his edict/nova.

Anyway, changes don't seem all that significant to me. Most important change seems to be the xp change from neutral denies - makes offlaning a little easier.

just finished my first game with pitlord. it was a total stomp. teleporting all five onto a dominated creep and gangbanging whoever is unfortunate enough to be in lane at the time is a lot of fun.

Yeah, this fucking sucks.

I just hope they are disbanding because of internal issues, and not because they lost 2 series of games at The International.

They lost 2 consecutive sets 2-0 in the main event, that's gotta be pretty soul crushing. Especially for a team coming off of two Major wins and that had a phenomenal group stage.

Anyway, it was pretty obvious that the team was very lopsided talent-wise, Miracle was on another level entirely. Moon is a solid player but has always been a clown, Fly and N0tail have been buttbuddies since HoN and Cr1t was just kinda... there.

I'm pretty sure a lot of tier 1 teams will be fighting over Miracle dibs, Moon will end up in a tier 2 NAdota team, Fly and N0tail are gonna reform OG with some other friends (maybe Era?) and Cr1t will end up in some midtier euro team.
