pretty good... not being able to tell if an enemy is dangerous sucks though

I approve of rlprospector :salute: If the game would have some starflight-like interaction with aliens it would be great (plus a mainstory - yeah I know it'a a roguelike).

not being able to tell if an enemy is dangerous sucks though
indeed. But the description can give you a basic indicator. Stay away from big things and canivores.

...and leaves... stay away from leaves... little green fuckers are hard to spot in dense vegetation (duh) and will kill you without mercy

I did play it a few versions ago.

Buggy as hell. Dead crewmen blocking you from kicking them off, you could actually get yourself (captain) glitched out and not being able to equip anything or change ships and such, you could get implants for tree crewmen (even though you're not supposed to) but not for human ones, inability to equip crewmen with equipment of your choice, not being able to sell lots and lots of shit that just stayed in inventory for ages until you sold it for 0$ a piece, regular (to put it mildly) cotd's when dealing with ship-to-ship combat...god this crap is buggy.

Also, it doesnt really deserve to be called "Prospector", since what you're doing is hardly relevant to anything you might imagine prospectors do. You cant even mine the actual planets unless there's a cave entrance.

Also, my wrist was hurting because of this game. All the fucking drilling through mountains...

And i didnt even mention the difficulty.

seems like some things were fixed then, as i haven't had a single ctd (yet) and could sell everything i've found. it's still only 0.2.2 and there are bound to be some bugs left (the retirement options don't have the cost listed for example).

so far i've had fun looking for decent planets to land on and exploit. also found a dune-like planet including sandworms, a planet with heavy industry i could enhance to no longer pollute the atmosphere, a planet that was rich in every mineral available but getting crushed by the sun (constant meteor showers and once you leave, it becomes an asteroid field) and some stranded ships that were either easy loot storage or completely impenetrable fortresses of evil alien slugs... a lot of variety.

Haven't encountered anything like that. Only some glitches and got stuck on one planet. Were you already playing with the tile-version?

Prospector is a great little indy-gem that deserves far more publicity than it gets.

For those struggling on the planets, you can radio your ship to provide fire support on a planet surface. The size and shape of the explosion is based on what your ship's primary weapon is. Also, you can radio your ship to relocate as well.

I love it. Easy as shit once you know what you're doing, though. It's seriously possible to beat without losing a SINGLE redshirt. I have everything maxed out now, alien scoutship + all artifacts + 60 guys with disintegrators. What's the main quest and how to complete it, btw? Must I exterminate the crystal race with those alien nukes somehow?

So...a new version was released a few days ago, so i decided to check the dev forum. What do you know, ALL the bugs i experienced a year ago are still being reported in the new version ! HA-HA-HA ! Plus a slew of new ones, like not spawning exits from caves. You enter in a cave - you STAY in the cave, forever.

The last bug you mentioned should already be fixed. And I experienced this bug not as new, I stumbled in it the first time I played the game. And what other bugs do you mean? Besides the first mentioned bug I had no problem whatsoever with the game. It's fully playable :?

Go to the dev forum, to the bug section, and just read the thread names. I've had them all.

As for playable...just now, i played a bit of 0.2.3, and had 3 CTDs almost in rapid succession. First when i ordered a drink in a casino, then when i was looking around in an equipment shop, then when i scanned an asteroid and a pirate ship jumped out. I said "fuck it", and didnt try anymore.
