3: I'm a dancer!! But... I'm a Fighter too!!
We run into some random encounters against local wildlife. Nothing too dangerous though; all enemies go down in one hit.
A village, ripe for exploring.
Balamb, the village where the best cow of the world lives!
I hope these aren't carnivorous cows?
In the hotel motel, all doors are locked. No one here but the cleaning ladies.
I'm glad to see this particular Final Fantasy game hasn't abandoned the series' signature love for ellipses.
"Thankful, even if you're dead"? That doesn't sound too reassuring!
So, Ometeotle's a good guy; Exdeath's a bad guy. Easy.
Let's also check out the pub.
A common predicament.
We're a robot and a little girl. Are you really that desperate?
Also some shops here in the village:
I guess that's what they call aggressive marketing.
And if you do buy something...
There's just no pleasing these guys.
We buy the "Safe Tea Boots", which disappointingly turn out to be simply "Safety Boots".
This area looks magical!
The pentagram teleports us to a solitary cave.
Wasn't there something about Exdeath wanting to destroy this planet by using the 4 Miracles? This must be one of those.
Big Snakes look scary but also die in one hit.
So, let's see this queen person.
Sheesh, calm down pal.
(I forgot to screencap the initial dialogue but that guard basically asked us if we thought the queen was beautiful.
How do we know though? We haven't even seen her yet!)
This here is a
sleep meditation chamber.
The statue recovers your health.
If you say so.
Are you?
Holy crap, you are!
(Pinging
Agassi )
One hell of a fighter too.
She really tears us a new one, annihilating us in, like, two turns.
Whatever, you're no friend of mine. Meanie.
Nah, I don't like you much either.
The queen is the King Hall. Makes sense.
Being a queen is a hard job for sure.
There's also a secret room here, which I'm really proud about having discovered:
I wish this was what every secret room in every game was called.
Oh fuck we've been discovered and a bunch of snakes attack us as we try to exit the treasure room.
They kill us because we're at 0 HP after having fought the Fighter-Witch
Whatever though, the encounter doesn't trigger if you approach the exit from the side
And this must be the queen's room.
Alright I think I've had enough of the queen for now.
(More of her in the next updates when we revisit the castle and actually trigger the dialogue that for some reason failed to trigger on our first visit here.)
