can someone explain to me what is lvl scaling about? I see people whining how you cant kill enemies that are 1 or 2 lvls above. I know they are stronger due to more vitality per lvl and so on, but people are complaining like if there was something alike to witcher3 with dmg scaled to lvl difference.

I've killed lvl 15 troll with my lvl 11 characters without cheesing. I was on occasion killing enemies that are higher lvl than me and never once I felt there was anything unfair about those fights.

The problem is that vitalty and armor increases massively with each level, so monsters even one level above you are very hard to kill, while monsters below you are a cakewalk.

I also killed a level 18 troll at level 14 or so, but that was because he had no magical armor, so I could keep him stunned for the entirety of the fight. If he had had magic armor, there was nothing I could have done. He was basically capable of taking out my entire team in one turn.

level is the strongest stat in the entire game, to the point where everything else i neglibible. A level ten dude with 10 in each stat still beats a level 5 dude with 20 in each.

They are obviously exaggerating bro, it's the codex. Unless the enemies are all 2-3 levels higher and more than 4 it's doable if you try with all the tools in your disposal.

Holy shit Artillery Plant and Bone Widow rape so hard. I was mostly using totems and Incarnate up to this point.

Cheesed Ryker by Barraging him with my Plant and then starting the fight (skill was off cd by then and he died next turn, lul).

I'm back to having fun again, there are some questionable design decisions for sure, but I also can't ignore the fact that a lot of my woes can be attributed to me being bad. Unrelenting pressure of shitty games in the past decade made me soft.

Oh golly gee I sure am surprised, the shady guy offering a hooker actually robs you. I'm astounded at this outcome. I have never once seen such events unfold in this manner in any form of media what so ever.
Come on Larian, the dialogue leading up to it was shit and cringy and the outcome couldn't have been any more generic. Maybe drug you and leave you in a ditch naked, then have to go and kill them to get your shit back, that would have been interesting. Even the quest name gives it away, "Love Has a price."

Can you imagine the bitching people would do if you lost all of your shit and it wasn't right there? It would be out of this world. Shit, they might even have to pick up another weapon for a while until they get their loot back.

its meh that you can teleport there using pyramid. Having loot there is fine as it takes lots of action points so you can grab only your weapon.

Same with prison. What's the point of prison and breaing out of it, when you can just teleport to lady vengeance? xD And then just enter it unmolested to get your stuff back. Wont even need to kill anyone.

I'm reading everywhere that this is the Baldur's Gate 2 of this generation.

Dunno, looks queer as fuck to me. Is this worth a pick-up (and no, I didn't really bother with OS1) or should I meditate for the arrival of manly ELEX?

If you didn't give a shit for DoS1,you won't give a shit about this one, wait for MANLEX

You should bother with both imo, if you enjoy turn based combat with a lot of tools in your disposal.

Just got into Arx,first scene a woman is crying to me to save her wife from execution, let's say she didn't munched on the muffin that night.A hobo on street is telling me about his desire for men and women, like I really needed to know that.

I don't know about you folks, but I'm calling it quits. The first 2 acts were decent enough but the writing and the terrible encounter system is getting to me.

PC Gamer has been shilling for D:OS 2 non-stop, but this might actually be useful: http://www.pcgamer.com/best-divinity-original-sin-2-mods/

The best Divinity: Original Sin 2 mods
The modding community has just gotten started, but there are already some useful tweaks and add-ons.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is an exceptional RPG, but that doesn’t mean mods can’t make it even better. With its robust editing tools and intuitive Game Master mode, expect to see lots of tweaks, new features and entire campaigns in the near future. It’s still early days, and we’ll be updating this list over time, but we’ve already found plenty of helpful mods. Here are the best Divinity: Original Sin 2 mods so far.

Free pet pal
Steam Workshop | Nexus

The pet pal talent is objectively and irrefutably the best ability in the game. Giving you the power to talk to critters, it’s an endless source of jokes, hints and hidden quests. By not picking it, you’d be missing out on many of the adventure’s greatest moments. This mod simply makes it a free ability, so you can use it straight away without being forced to pick between it and one of the many other handy talents. You’ll be able to blether away with Rivellon’s chatty animals to your heart’s content.

Expanded party size
Steam Workshop | Nexus

Original Sin 2’s companions are all worth bringing along on your journey, adding elaborate personal quests to your journal that span the game and providing plenty of roleplaying opportunities. Unfortunately, with the maximum party size of four, you’ll have to leave at least two of them behind. The expanded party size mod, not surprisingly, lets you take all of them with you. There are some minor UI and dialogue issues, but nothing game breaking. Combat will be a bit unbalanced, however, so you might want to consider a higher difficulty.

Permanent spirit vision
Steam Workshop | Nexus

Spirit vision lets you strike up a conversation with ghosts, opening up new ways to solve quests. It’s basically pet pal with spectres. Unlike pet pal, however, it’s an ability you have to cast, and it doesn’t last forever. This makes it easy to forget that there could be several more characters floating about. Permanent spirit vision keeps it on all the time, effectively making it a passive ability. If you’re in an area that’s haunted, there’s no faffing required, and you’ll notice right away.

Origin and racial skill books
Steam Workshop | Nexus

Several skills in Original Sin 2 are exclusive to specific races and character origins. It’s one of the few restrictions in what is an otherwise very flexible, classless system. The origin and racial skill books mod makes these skills unlockable in the same way as all the others by turning them into skill books that you can discover or purchase early in the game. This includes pet summons, so you’ll be able to make a custom character that can control Ifan’s wolf and the Red Prince’s dragonling, but it doesn’t include the abilities granted by Fane’s Shapeshifter’s Mask.

Artificer and Bard skills
Steam Workshop | Nexus

This mod adds a whopping 50 new skills to the game. They can be mixed and matched with other skills or used to create Bard and Artificer characters. The Bard skills call to mind its D&D counterpart, revolving around buffing and debuffing, but the cherry on top is the weaponised lute you can get your hands on. Artificer skills are based around messing with items, like duplicating potions and cursing objects, handy both in and out of combat. Both of these skill sets are great for support characters.

Tempest skills
Steam Workshop

Spears are kind of weird in Original Sin 2. They’re finesse weapons, but unlike daggers and bows, they don’t have any skills specifically associated with them . Unless you download the Tempest skill pack, that is. This mod gives spears piercing damage, bypassing armour, and also introduces ten spear-based skills that run the gamut from simple jabs to summoning an intimidating barrage of spears.

Yeah Arx is balls.

I'm not even sure you really have to do anything in the town except hauling your ass in the cathedral and going through the Path of Blood. The trick would be to temporarily hire a new toon without sin or something.

What the fuck kind of person would want a 6 person party with this combat system and then half the other mods are "free stuff for everybody"

I guess destroying every last vestige of choices and tradeoffs, they could have just made a mod that just lets you get every single skill and also have every single companion be voices in your head you can quest and romance with

Funny. Fort joy is almost degeneracy free and then from the second act onwards the game goes full tumblr. What's the reasoning for that? If they wanted to impress journos then the faggot stuff needs to be within the first 5 minutes or so (and require no skill to unlock).

What's the point of putting all that garbage in the very late game? People who reach Arx are within the (insert low percentage here) of players who actually finish the game and these people are very likely to be part of the "core" audience of the game. So, again, what's the fucking point?

All the blue haired freaks already shelved the game at this point, so you're left with a playerbase that is like 95% fucking white males. So what's the point of shoving all that garbage in the player's face at this point!? It really feels like "thank you for your money, dear fan. Now fuck you, here is some faggot porno content by our resident degenerates, lolololololol, you're welcome, buy our next game pls!"
