Now that Arkane is owned by Bethesda, it's pretty sure we won't see any fantasy RPG from them.

I'm afraid so. Probably the contract was like "Yo bro's, we give you a monthly wage and let you create mediocre games, while all your good creations go into the Elder Scrolls". Yeah... we have seen that... destroying something edgy and replacing it with something bland.

IIRC it was just a mediocre success. Which makes me wonder even more. The only reason I can explain it is: they build upon their artwork etc. it's all there... saves money and time. And most likely they are not allowed to build upon their former RPGs.
