AngryJoe's Fans have seem to have quite different Opinions of 2014 than the Codex does.

Sigh....... Why Destiny, you had so much potential. 2014 has to be the worst year for Video Games.

As much as I have grown to dislike Joe I have to agree with him on one point. By the time Destiny hits the PC it will not only be cheaper, but more complete.

Thats if it doesn't suck so much that the console release completely kills this whole 10 year plan stone dead. Even if I'm struggling to see how this game could ever last 10 years when most people will rush to trade it in by the time the new COD arrives.

I watched the video.
He completely trashed the game and gave it 6/10, good job, Joe, you showed those corporate assholes they can buy you with shiny graphics and gun combat that's not totally broken!
What a fucking child.

Oh wow, that whole hype surrounding this game completely slipped by me.
So why does it even sell despite being a mediocre MMO shooter with neglected RPG elements and a nonexistent story? Even the reviews aren't that favorable.
Are console fags who made the mistake to buy one of the next gen consoles that desperate for something to play?

It sold because those guys made Halo. Consoletards love them some Halo so naturally by extension this was going to be the best thing ever.

Good marketing sells AAA games nowadays not review scores. Publishers only need good review scores for their metacritic gambling contracts.

Don't want to necroing game thread that's abandoned after release (which say something). Game? It's Destiny. Big release of new console generation.

CheatCC - "One area that excels past the Halo standard, for me, is the story. It's about aliens and space."
So.... like Skyrim with aliens?

I don't understand.

I'm vaguely aware of a game called Destiny. Has it flopped or something?

I'm thoroughly enjoying Destiny, so I don't really care about what the critics say.

I was thoroughly letdown by Destiny, and I don't really care about what the critics say either.

It's almost like different people like different things.

[–]Master_Z
Bungie lost a lot of respect with Destiny
The large amount of Playstation exclusives once again proves all that talk pre Xbox days about being their own company is BS, paid by Apple, paid by MS, paid by Activision, paid by Sony.
Game is obviously chopped up for DLC, there is even probable proof from testers who have written out the entire storyline and how Destiny pt1 is barely a fraction of what they played.
Being defensive on EVERYTHING, there are tons of issues and they just spin it in their favor.
[–]ExpAwesome
Don't forget the 3 (fully mapped areas) on Earth that have been found that are blocked off from us. They all have dead ghosts in them that unlock grimoire cards, and one already has enemy spawns and a miniboss.
It is so painfully obvious that it was chopped up for DLC that it LITERALLY hurts me to think about it (a little pain in my chest, not unlike a small heartbreak)
I hope they do the right thing and at least release SOME new missions for free. And I hope they were forced to do this against their will by Activision and they hate it too, but they are contractually restricted from speaking about it.

I'm thoroughly enjoying Destiny, so I don't really care about what the critics say.

I was thoroughly letdown by Destiny, and I don't really care about what the critics say either.

It's almost like different people like different things.

The global economy can't collapse again soon enough. Why they thought it would be any different is beyond me.

So what is this game about? Space man shootan?

A magic spaceball, creatively named "The Traveler," soars mysteriously into our solar system, causing technogibberish miracles to occur. One of these miracles sees you return from the dead and meet the midget from Game of Thrones, except he's now in a floating robot body with triangle metal things that extend and retract and whirl around thanks to the cool glowing force field at its core, because that's future-y as fucking shit, dawg. But, oh no! In the wake of The Traveler's miraculous sciencey miracle gibberish, the creatively-named THE DARKNESS (THE DARKNESS is basically a collection of Foreheads of the Week a la Star Trek) comes and destroys almost everything, except for one city... a city from which you and the other Guardians (zombies, essentially, each with your own Game of Thrones midget floating robot companions) must fight THE DARKNESS and something something, apparently there is a goal of some sort, something something save the entire universe et cetera.

You then spend three hundred hours grinding the same six enemy types for incremental, boring loot.

Also Peter Dinklage is phoning it in. He got paid to give a damn about the plot and didn't. While you have to pay to give a damn, and you still won't care.

http://au.ign.com/articles/2014/06/30/peter-dinklages-destiny-performance-has-already-been-updated

I remember people taking about this at the time. But I still see people saying that his performance is phoned in or just lacks any real depth, emotion or care. The best criticisms of his performance in Destiny I've seen is that he just isn't a good voice actor. He is the type of actor that works best with a character and role that puts him in the same room as other actors to really work with. A role he can get his teeth into. Why would you hire a man like that (beyond being popular right now) for the role of some faceless machine and give him nothing to really work with? Bungie may as well have used a text to speech program to get the same result. It would have been a damn sight cheaper either way.

But maybe I and others are wrong about it. But I will be damned if I'm going to buy a Xbone/PS4 bundle or sit through obnoxious "lol sick bro" hipster youtube videos to find out.
