How to get 150,000$ from the internet to alleviate your game's development cost? An interesting new variant.

Act1. The famous industry veterans that "brought" you Battle of Britain - Storm of War IL 2 Cliffs of Dover (development time 10 years) get sacked by evil publishers and start a new WW2 sim that would run on Eagle Dynamics engine. But of course (wink) it had nothing to with ED (wink wink)

Act 2. The kickstarter for the game developes in a dissapointing way.
The developers express concern that the game can be developed with so little money (158,000$) as they of course had been betting on a few millions, not such pittances. Instead of simply cancelling the thing, they take the money and promise they will still develop the game, somehow, without saying how.

Act3. Now a year later Eagle Dynamics take over the team, and the (dissapointing) product, sacked the famous industry veterans and have promised they will complete the game. The snag is, without fulfiling the kickstarter rewards. Basically this means, backers will perhaps* get the game, but they will have to pay for it, as well as the other addon planes, a second time.

*I write "perhaps" because I don't think that they will even finish it. In the end it will probably just amount to 2 new planes for their own engine as well as a map. You have to pay for of course, but at least you will have something.

Isn't it lovely? So the backers should be thankful to ED. Instead of completely losing their money they will get a game that they will have to pay for, that ED could have developed anyway, and will have to thank them for that.
They should be thankful that they can now throw more good money after bad.
I call BULLSHIT and hope people now sue away!!

Holy shit what an amateur KS. At least they should have set a realistic goal, not 100K.

To be fair, ED is not at fault here, why would they fullfill promises they didn't make? At least they finish the product. People should sue Oleg and Co.

Of course, they cannot sue ED directly. But someone should take this to court.
I think in the end this is the same as indirectly suing ED, because the people involved work for them and will then have to sue ED in turn directly, to get the money to pay refunds. It's almost the same, just more complicated, because a triangle has formed.
Taking the blame from ED is way too easy. If ED only stepped in and took over a project that has already run into a deficit, why are they giving expensive physical gifts (which cost them mones) to some people who made high pledges? And why don't they give the promised digital items (which cost no money) to the people who made smaller pledges? If ED gets away with this that means they are taking the shit out of the original backers, which made substantial pledges from 20 to 100$ and sometimes much more.

ED said they will develop the planes and Normandy map for DCS, and at least a majority seem to be content with that.
But as far as RRG, Shevchenko and Maddox go they will never be able to do something in the flight sim business again.

Does it mean that DCS series is dead?
No no no. This game has nothing to do with the DCS series except the name. They used the name, because they were working with Eagle Dynemics. But DCS is alive and kicking, the F-15 beta is underway and new modules are developed.

Uh if they bought the original company or already owned them then of course they should take on all their liabilities.

The did not "buy" them because the company in question was completely worthless.
