I'd like to take this time to point out David Gaider was incapable of making a decent and functional warrior in RoA, the easiest class to make in the game. I think he encompasses what makes this site so special now, him and Todd Howard, and the popular Jrpg devs.

This news makes GOG even more pathetic. They've listened to the demands of such insignificant company and earlier they allowed Beamdog to spread lies about them with no consequences.

Lol so you are really going to be butthurt over someone deleting a post with that title in the community section of a platform that is supposed to sell shit? Who the fuck cares they sold less copies than AOD? How much money did you make them exactly?

As fans of Dragon Age, KoTOR, Baldur’s Gate, and many of the other incredible worlds Dave has helped create, we’re excited to find out what’s next (come on, give us a clue Dave!) be it a new game, novel, or whatever else it is you choose to create.

We’ll certainly miss your lunchtime stories. Best of luck Dave!

My irony senses are tingling with those two lines for some reason...

I wonder if the tanking of Siege of Dragonspear forced them to scale back whatever plans they had for original content to the point where either Gaider was no longer interested in working on whatever project or Beamdog no longer felt it was reasonable to keep him on.

He was a filthy fag that tried to push his agenda in every game that he put his faggy hands on.

''Gaider deliberately attempted to incorporate better 'minority content', as he describes it. He originally aimed for an even split of two gay romance options, two lesbians, and two bisexual characters - although he paused to clarify that, although Josephine is bisexual"

"Helped create studio's first gay party member"

" David Gaider reminds everyone that sexual and gender minority characters are rare and are thus especially important"

"BioWare writer David Gaider has gone on the record before talking about privilege and all the baggage that comes with it to fans who didn't quite understand.
The problem he says, stems from people being unable to recognize their own privilege. With limited context, people don't generally look beyond themselves, they don't reach out and try to view things from a different perspective"

Good riddance you fat fuck.

It's unclear what this means for the Dungeons & Dragons RPG that Beamdog have been speculated to be working on since 2016. Has it been cancelled? Was it actually Planescape: Unraveled?

It appears that the team David Gaider was heading is Kaput Actually.
Call me a Tinfoil Hat but this was a little telling:

(Start at 47:15)

TL;DR -
They had 4 Teams.. one team has very recently disappeared because *pause* "reasons" (Just look at Phil's face)
Another "Ideas only" team bites the dust.

They still have a secret Project in the works:
Team 1 - Infinity Engine Team
Team 2 - Neverwinter Team
Team 3 - Other Team

Team 4: My money is on Gaider working Asynchronously on some other concept idea that never went anywhere.

Huh, well-spotted. They didn't mention that in their recap: http://blog.beamdog.com/2018/02/february-9-livestream-recap.html

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
No matter how bad Gaider is as a writer, he is a relatively known name. Him leaving Beamdog likely means the studio isn't appealing to someone with a relatively known name anymore.

Probably because, if you do any kind of creative work, Beamdog isn't the right place for you as all they do is rehashing old games as "Enhanced Editions".

My dream is coming through, David Gayder will stop making games and write gay porn for the rest of his life and Beamdog will turn to make browser and phone games.

What he did about his privilege? Spent money on anti-balding products?

Yeah I guess Dragonspear tanked and the company can't do a big project. Probably low on funds and don't have the scope anymore.

Dragonspear tanked two years ago. I was expecting Gaider to leave soon after that, but he ended up sticking around for a pretty long time - which made it look like Beamdog had cash reserves lined up for their next project no matter what. What happened there?

They probably did have some reserves and thought they could either get a project finished or make money from further small releases in the meantime to keep afloat but I guess neither happened.

Perhaps they were hoping he'd take the hint and move on sooner... :shittydog:

Now that the Codex newsboy post is vacant, Infinitron being promoted to a full admin and all, perhaps that'd be a new slot for him?
