We're planning to use Unreal 4 if we can handle it.
Who evaluates engines?
Whats the most important feature for you? Ease of scripting? Price?
What if you cant handle it? Unity?

Being able to port our RPG 'framework', which is a big chunk of code that would cut the development time in half. This way we won't be starting from scratch.

What if you cant handle it? Unity?
No idea. Might go back to Torque. In general, the engine is the "risk factor". I know we can do this game in 4 years with Torque as we know it inside out. I don't know Unreal 4 would play out. So if we spend 6 months trying to make Unreal 4 work and then decide it's not for us, I doubt we'd have time to try a new engine.
