Pal, you skimmed that article too quickly.

And here's the list of people they had working on cinematics:
Cinematic Artists Igor Sarzyński, Artur Bielenica, Piotr Janiszewski, Piotr Krysik, Jakub Ben, Aleksander Kraśniewicz-Kraśnicki, Kajetan Kapuściński, Martyna Marek, Bartosz Nowak, Paweł Ochocki, Aneta Pasławska, Maciej Pietras, Robert Stoneman
Additional Cinematics Eric Meyer, Adrian Sobieraj, Daniel Denisiuk, Michał Niziński, Jakub Zawistowski, Łukasz Sopata, Martyna Zych, Siergiej Wasilewski, Piotr Chomiak, Beata Rączka, Stanisław Święcicki

A team that large wasn't just letting a program handle almost everything. That way lies Mass Effect Andromeda.

    He was exaggerating.

I suppose if some of the filler side quest "Geralt and a guy just stand there talking to each other" animations look like that, they were untouched.

    informative.

Anyway what I was originally getting at was the notion that cdproject could deliver cinematic experience on such scale, because they were paying with potato dollars. My point is that it was possible due to them being smart about it and creating/buying/i have no idea where it came from tool that automated this process. Even if only to some extend.

This is still true, given the exchange rate of the dollar and the zloty.

    P.S.

all nonsense, the lipsync was shit because the animator was a secret trump voter, perhaps even a fucking white male, they can fix that by only hiring POCs with majors in social studies, black history, liberal arts etc, which will do wonders for the quality of the product

andromeda facial stuff was outsourced to romania... which is cheaper. Following that logic it should have resulted in mind blowing visuals.

Regarding your PS line I'm truly lost.

They had algorithm doing stuff. Then they decided to 'lower its quality' and use more slave labor. It makes no sense. Lowering quality should refer to processing power, which is always cheaper than slave work. What could have happened is they didnt own the tech. In that context lowering the quality would actually mean using competitor worse product and more slave labor as substitute.
I guess you can look at it like on triangle, representing variables: money, time, quality. It appears they decided to give infinite time(no other way to look at 5yr dev cycle) and get best possible quality with lowest money spent. Turns out cheap labor alone cant give you AAA results.
Last quotation in that context I parse as: With more money we would get tech that gives results faster.
