Many of these concepts were used in Tiberium Wars and some ideas might have even been put to use in Red Alert 3. Specifically the mobile base buildings which started appearing in Tiberian Sun's expansion pack (apart from MCVs of course). Then by C&C 4 there were no other people's ideas to use and well the result can be seen by all. C&C 3 was already a fancy husk parading around with its FMVs. I guess they were trying to make feel as if it was a main series C&C sequel but I think it lost it soul somewhere along the way. Not that C&C as series was in any way as goofy as Red Alert but I always found it kind of tongue in cheek.

What happened to Westwood Studios by the way? Did they go defunct because of the media corp acquirings they went through? Virgin, Viacom, Blockbuster. Such a damn shame and even more so what a damn waste.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
C&C 3 was an excellent game, second only to Emperor Battle for Dune and on par with RA2.

Some stuff I've never seen before for Tiberian Incursion, thanks for this video.

Oh what could have been. :negative:

I remember playing the original C&C, and viewing the video about the game which should have been Tiberian Sun.
When the other project went, called Tiberian Sun, I was "WTF ?!". I mean, I was pleased to see what has become Tiberian Sun. But in the other hand, where did the other game go ?

Westwood lives in death!

^

Some of those concept designs are really, really cool. The Imperium of Man would be proud. I guess it's a CABAL faction. Also, those Nod concepts, the Nodzi officer, the blissful smile of the fanatic...

But, in all honesty, I can't say I am disappointed in how Tiberium Wars turned out. No, brothers, I tell you the Messiah approves of C&C3. Possibly due to all the elements lifted from this. But Tiberian Twilight, now that was utter shite.

BTW, since this thread is going to be a magnet for fellow C&C freaks, I shall point you to a little gem I found. I can happily recommend reading the entire thing. My only regret is that it ends midway through C&C 3's chapter 2.

Infidel! Do not speak of RA2. Do not disgrace C&C 3 and Emperor: Battle for Dune by mentioning them in a single sentance with that... that... thing!

C&C3 was ok. Not as good as Westwood produced stuff, but it was decent for something made by the company that killed them.

C&C4 was utter shit, that was no doubt created after EA realized that C&C3 didn't defile westwood as much as they'd like.

This line is super heresy.

Tanya's boobs and Romanoff's underpants

I completely agree with this man and his post, RA2 had the best FMV actresses of any video game. Glory be to -

wait, apparently I'm thinking about the girls in RA3. Carry on.

Sorry, but RA2 got nothing on the original. Waaay to campy and in your face, with Tanya's boobs and Romanoff's underpants, as opposed to Stalin discussing nerve gas tests on civilian populations.

I liked the camp though. It was fun. You can tell they were going for a 50s b-movie thing, with inspiration from cold war paranoia.

RA3 over did it though. RA3 just went all out with bright colors, bears and animu. It didn't look like a parody of the cold war to me, it was just a mess.

C&C3 was okay. Great in some aspects, average in others. Still, a solid game and godlike when compared to C&C4.
Nice video.

For all their faults, C&C 3 and RA 3 are still good games and very fun to play multiplayer with friends.

C&C 4 on the other hand... what the fuck even was that holy shit :negative:

I actually liked RA3 a lot when it came to gameplay (and waifus ofc), it was really well thought-through and I even daresay sort of innovative.

Which is only why C&C4 was even more of a slap in the fehs

It also has one of the best AIs I've seen in an RTS in terms of combat effectiveness. The fucker micros its units like some sort of Korean Starcraft pro gamer.

What about Generals 2? For better or worse I missed any occasion to play it so I have no idea if it was any improvement at all before EA shut it down.

The finest hoe is that chick serving tea to George Takei in some of the cutscenes. Wa wa wii wa, yellow fever rising.

I do not recall.

You mean her?

Or her?

They are pretty.

I still think the Japanese faction is out of place in a RA game, but at least they have George Takei and hot girls as part of the FMV cast.
