Incline C&C Generals 2 is dead - evolves into Free2Play gayfest... and then it dies. Amen.

The Mammoth Tank is cold and scary on the outside, but does he have a warm heart on the inside? For only $9.99 you can find out! Buy Extinct Hearts DLC pack now!
Weak, let me try.

The Mammoth Tank, it's armor is cold and it weapons spread death, but did you know there beats a heart under the shell? A flash-and-blood heart of a woman hooked to the cybernetic brain, her only purposes in life is to fight... and die forgotten. But it doesn't have to be this way. For only $15.99 you can save her! Buy Forgotten Hearts DLC pack now!

Bah, amateurs.

The Mammoth Tank fired, her body shaking violently for a brief moment until the stabilizers kicked in. They always kicked in. She was in control, always in control; and yet, she wondered each day if there was more to this world than the violence, the explosions, the blood on her tracks and the twisted faces of fools that tried to stand in her way. Her engine wheezed pitifully. Perhaps she would never find out.

For the first time in history of the C&C games, see the emotion behind the legendary Mammoth Tank - discover her tender heart and gentle soul, find the unquenchable fire that burns in her engines day and night... And who knows, if she lives long enough, if your love for her will bloom on the battlefield, perhaps you will be the first human to remove her inhibitions, undo her stabilizers, and make her shake in the prime pleasure of true love?

Find out this fall! for only 14.99!

(Voiced by Felicia Day)

Haha, awesome!

This certainly fills me with confidence.

We all have the big picture in our mind where we want to go with this new Command & Conquer, making a great RTS game that can wear the C&C logo with pride. Yes, the direction is new and many probably would say that this is not a “true” C&C, just as many did when the original Generals came out. For me, Command & Conquer isn’t just about Tiberium, Kane and the crazy Yuri. It’s been more about fun to play, engaging, and high quality RTS experiences. And that’s what we’re aiming to deliver, just in a different way.

To be fair, they can't really make a worse game than CnC4 now can they? I mean, that was the absolute bottom of the trash heap they've piled on Westwoods Legacy right? Right guys?

I guess they couldn't see the percentage. Death is preferable before that F2P travesty.

Not sure: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/10/29/defeat-ea-cancels-command-conquer-closes-victory/

Despite how things may seem, however, EA isn’t abandoning the Command & Conquer franchise. At this point, it’s hoping to create the game it believes players want “as soon as possible.” The publisher’s not-at-all-victorious post concluded: “We have already begun looking at a number of alternatives to get the game back on track. We look forward to sharing more news about the franchise as it develops.”

So that’s where things are at. There’s no telling what lies ahead at this point, but probably don’t expect to be commanding and conquering your way across new ground in the near future.

Who knows what that means though.

Sounds like they are just going to reuse whatever assets they have in the frostbite engine to make a quick turn around. "Alternatives" could mean anything from putting a team together from whats let of Victory studios or to pass it on to someone else like Firaxis games or whoever else will do some cheap mercenary work for EA.

"Your feedback from the alpha trial is clear: We are not making the game you want to play," the post reads. "That is why, after much difficult deliberation, we have decided to cease production of this version of the game. Although we deeply respect the great work done by our talented team, ultimately it's about getting you the game you expect and deserve."

EA actually listened to what the playtesters said and did what they wanted. The fuck?

Clearly ITZ draws near. Yet, at the same time, this is :incline:.

Act of War was a better Command and Conquer Generals than the actual Command and Conquer.

The only interesting aspect of this is the fickle possibility that Jon Van Canheigem might be fired and decide to Kickstart a spiritual sequel to Might and Magic.

Kickstarting a spiritual sequel to Might & Magic when there's a company making an actual sequel would be in rather poor form, wouldn't you say? Especially since he's apparently quite friendly with them.

Watch this space, though: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/jon-van-caneghem/3/a77/ab3
