Baldur's Gate III and Might and Magic 10 fund raising = TAEK MA MONIE DEAVS

which reminds me, why have no fans ever tried a GFX update on that game like they did with Ultima 4?

When has this faggot ever done anything with old school vibe since Fallout 2? Faggot will make a shitty popamole console corridor shooter on rails where you can actually die and he will call that old school.

No thanks. We can't risk the Might and Magic series getting closer to 11.

Has Obsidian clearly defined what game they want to make? Or is it as vague as this one ("Old school" doesn't mean shit).

That would require the Owner (Hasbro and WoTC) to be involved. And then we are back to square one, based on their demands for using their licence. They would (thier marketing department would probably) demand it be a "Mass Accessible" Action game with AWESOM BUTTAN! So there would be no point.

and Might and Magic is closer to 11, with Might and Magic 10 in the works, 12 even if you count MMT.

Baldur's Gate is a finished Trilogy with the third part released as an Addon. I don't see a point in continuing the story. Better make something like this as a "spiritual successor" according to gameplay and fantasy elements.

I think you are being a bit too negative on this one. Yes, there is a lot of popamole, like the new Bard's Tale game. But clearly the man did, once upon a time, make a good game. The reason he made popamole is because it's hard to sell anything else to a publisher without a tremendous struggle; just look at Troika or Obsidian.

Maybe, if given the money by means of crowd-funding, he'd have no such need to dumb down whatever game he'd want to make.

As a counter-argument to my point, though: often, someone who made something great in his life fails to replicate or surpass it for the rest of his life.

I don't think Fargo's the problem here in any way. Its that you also need a semi-decent team to pull it off. Something InXile lacks.

It would be pretty hilarious to watch if Herve got into the Kickstarted business.

Gears of War: Dark Alliance would've been a better title for this shit.

The corporatization of games is literally the single worst thing to ever happen to them. You're complaining that the people who made the best RPGs before the industry was corporatized want to make games free from publisher and corporate restrictions. You're right a lot of the time but this time you are so unbelievably wrong.
