An Archer RPG in the vein of Alpha Protocol... something like "Alpha Protocol done right" would be hilarious and FULL OF WIN (now I have to go slap myself for using such douchebag language as "full of win").

Looks like Brian wants to make RPGs right until retirement. A new golden age!

Will we view the past decade, in retrospect, as "The Lost Decade"? It's kind of sad when you think about it. So much time lost, so much money and resources spent on crap.

Love this quote from Brian when asked what a publisher wouldn't like about his W2 game:

You can tell that he wanted to write French usurpers.

May he live for a thousand years!

Also, now there will have to be clowns in WL2.

    Fetchez la vache!

I have enjoyed reading this, in spite of reddit's general lack of anything resembling usability. It warms my heart to read about Fargo being able to reject publishers for once.

This appears more likely every day. I am hopeful many people are preparing their coming proposals right as we speak. Let's hope we soon get dozens of such projects funded.

You just HAD to say it.

Don't any of you guys remember your classical learning?

What's the first thing that happens with hubris!

"I'm more powerful than Zeus, I'm more beautiful than Aphrodite!" BOOM!

    You need to stay involved.

There is always a chance these guys might end up working together at some point in the unforeseen future, so it doesn't make sense to be hostile and shit all over your peers in an interview. Besides that, I wouldn't be surprised if somebody like Gaider actually was fun to talk to outside of Bioware.com and after you get a few beers in him.

In before developers combine their legal teams to shut all of it down.

Kotick/whoever is EA then come out of the woodwork and fuck our dying corpse with one single phrase.

"EVERY GAME IS NOW TO BE MADE INTO A CONSOLE-FPS"

Resistance will be futile. Development of any other kind of game will be punishable by death.

That's why I didn't say "the decline has ended". I was very cautious. I will only say that if I have the games I want.

Yeah, I imagine that shit talking people in the industry, even if you don't like them, is a terrible career move. It pretty much never happens. Brian Fargo has been laying into publishers, but if you noticed he's not naming any names. While you can tell he does have disdain for them, he's kind of playing both sides. He is a businessman and does have to have a career if the fan-funding model doesn't pan out.

Yeah... in fact, didn't he state somewhare that he managed to strike a deal with EA (which probably entailed selling his soul) in order to secure Wasteland as a trademark?
