Smart PR move, helps Valve win back some of the goodwill they lost from the average game consumer (albeit unfairly imo) during the paid mods kerfuffle.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Seeing some games getting a price hike prior to the sale. I find this to be a shitty practice, but know this is something that happens both on digital stores and in retail. I was just surprised to see that one of the games was Age of Decadence. I have already supported the incline to be, but yeah...

According to price tracker i'm using, Age of Decadence price was changed 22 hours ago by 22% from 22.99€ to 27.99€.
Let me guess it'll have 18% discount during Steam summer sale to get the price back to 22.99€. :troll:

Sloppy math. 1-(100/122)=0.18
You're right, my bad. Edited my previous post.

We planned to increase the price by $5 (same price as Dead State and countless other RPGs) when we get to the finish line (i.e. when we release 21 out of 22 locations) and then run a $5 discount until release. I asked Valve (they approve all price changes and discounts, you can't just do whatever you want), they said no to 3-month long discount and suggested a 2-week 25% discount during the Summer Sale instead.

For people who like math but aren't very good at it:

$24.99 + $5 = $29.99 or 20% increase.
$29.99*0.75 (25% discount) = $22.49 or 10% discount off the original price
$29.99 - $22.49 = $7.50

So we let everyone know that the price is going up in 2 weeks, offer a small discount off the original price as a bonus, and gain some visibility.

Is it just me or were there higher discounts last summer sale? Maybe i'm just spoiled by gog.

So should I buy it now or after the price is risen? Which would you prefer?

Scholar of the First Sin is on sale but not the season pass for Dark Souls 2. Great...
Even pricing of Scholar discount is strange. Buying it new is on -50% which is 20 euro and upgrade is -20% which is also 20 euro.

It doesn't really make a difference, so buy it while it's on sale. Either way, we'll be grateful for your support.
