The original was released on Aug 18th.
The sequel was released on Nov 10th (yesterday).

That's 2 months and 3 weeks between a title and its sequel. I'd be surprised if that ain't a world record.

It's not like these kind of games are extremely hard and time consuming to do. I bet it took him more time to create new art than to add new features to the existing code.
