And... Beyond G&E loses the vote despite never having been 75% off in favor of Mirror's Edge which is almost always available for $5. Ah well, hopefully it's a flash deal.

Derp Rising 2 Off the Record for $10. Never played a Derp Rising game but I enjoy me some free roam zombie killing so I'll probably grab it.

Strange they never include the original DR2 with it. How stingy.

it needs multiplayer to really shine. It depends on what you think about the grinding needed to get all the skills and weapon cards, infinite zombie respawning(moderately slow while you're in area, instant when you zone), consolized interface, zombies being more of an environmental hazard than a lethal infestation and therefore your special weapons being only worthwhile in boss battles, the time limit and general b-movie poker faced kookiness atmosphere(i.e. not grimdark)

if you're playing it with someone else it becomes hilarious if you use a placard to try and stave off a psycho boss attack pattern or have to resort to a huge novelty shampoo bottle to defend yourself on low health but if you're playing alone you either have to larp the hilarity or minmax with the obviously most effective weapons and food items

likewise the camera function just pales compared to straight up killing or mission completing but taking pictures of your teammate while he's being savaged by a zombie to get extra event points instead of helping him is p. lulzy

on the plus side the reporter chick is totally hot

Agreed. I've been wanting the expansion since it came out and it's just never been at a good discount.

Does it play well enough with M+K? I've also heard you need a GFWL account even for single player only... so I'm sort of leaning against it at this point.

It's basically the same game with a bunch of the terrible shit removed and slightly retuned and a free roam mode added. Just watch a LP if you really want to see the Chuck Greene story.

    yeah, the controls are decent

I'm not sure about the GFWL thing, there should always be an offline account option that lets you save games and shit locally

Prepare to shit yourself. Well, maybe not but it doesn't look good. Six more days of 'new' deals and it's pretty obvious they just rotate stuff around from daily to community vote to flash deal.

Are there any strategy titles on sale that are worth it (meaning they are actually challaneging without the AI getting 1000% bonuses in resources)

Plays fine with mouse and keyboard. I went through the original Dead Rising on popamole machine and Dead Rising 2 on PC and had no complaints. Really liked the Dead Rising series, the leveling and strict timed shit is cool. It's less free-roam than you might think, but OTR might be different. I haven't played it yet. Might buy it now. Since it's sort of a rejiggering of Dead Rising 2 (Mostly the same story and location but with a new protagonist and rearranged items/survivors and shit) I was iffy, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut $10 and I liked the others.
Plus since it has Frank West again that means I can take zombie erotica pictures. Nothing like hot hot zombie upskirts for XP.

AND GOD FUCKING DAMN IT STEAM I WANTED 75% OFF BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL I HATE YOU

man games aren't really good these days aren't they

it's like having a massive shoe sale and the ladies are all 'eh well, I dunno about these, are there any long lasting ones here that wear well and can handle a few years worth of clubbing'

Dead Rising 2 OTR has a separate sandbox mode where you just run around killing zombies/psychos/survivors. And $ and levels carry over to the 'real' game with the time limits and zombrex gathering requirement.

    Nope.

I specifically bought Main campaign + RoTS + some shitty small DLC's as they were all 75% off. FoTS was only 50%, so I decided to wait for that one a bit more :keepmyjewgold:

Also if anyone is interested in splitting an OMD 2 pack I'm still on the fence but might do it depending on what the next couple of days of the Steam sale deliver. Price to you would be $11.50-$12 in various Steam games.
