As much as I would have agreed with you after my first night of playing, I'm getting used to the system now and have found that different units behave differently in regards to reward flags. Rogues, for instance, will swarm even a lowly 1-200gold flag, and if the bounty is high enough on a building they won't even defend themselves. Warriors, though, tend not to respond nearly as well, and I've yet to figure out how to execute a more controlled strategy.

I'm also really starting to fall in love with the Dwarves for the non-human support choice. The range support from the main settlement, ballista towers, and additional building capacity are just too useful to pass up.

What's amusing, though, is in one of the advanced missions (The one with four trade routes you need to defend), you can entice the bandits to attack their own hideout with a measly 200gold bounty, heh.

Yeah, amount of gold (And relative to the distance/difficulty of the thing) and class of characters factors in. If the gold is available you don't have to be TOO stingy with putting bounties up, since the gold goes to buying hero upgrades which eventually works back to you as taxes anyway.
Except for goddamn elf gambling houses and brothels. Reason why I avoid elves except on a few missions where gold is the objective, since getting the gold by gambling is usually easier.

Also Ashery, once you finish the official missions be sure to check out the random mission generator. Majesty 1 (With the expansion) has one of the better random mission generators I've seen. Good degree of customization. I played it like crazy and re-played yearly for quite a while.

Good to hear that it's a quality generator, as those things can be iffy at times in other games (I'm looking at you, HoMM3). I'll probably wind up playing it sooner rather than later, too, as my damn BG torrents are going at a whopping 12.5kb/sec average. Shouldn't even fucking need the expansions, either, as I've no interest in playing them, but the fucking SCS mods, which I consider to be the most important of the ones I'm planning on installing, require random files that can't be found in the base games.

    4 hours of EU3 later and I'm still bewildered CK2 ISN'T HELPING!

Initial gut feeling is I like CK2 more, though.

I bought it but only to pad my count. How bad can it be for that price?

Velvet Assassin. You play some introverted and abused spy bitch that is gonna sneak towards Germans and suffocate them between her thighs.

Actually, it was quite fun for a while. But this whole revenge thing is so retarded, it could only come from a guilt-ridden German developer.

Fun game, but I agree with Metro on the price.
Don't know if I'd still pay 8 let alone 10 bucks for it.

There are much better action games from the same period, like Drakan and Heavy Metal FAKK 2 that aren't on Steam or even GoG yet.

Spore is 75% off and I'm sorta tempted because I was always vaguely interested in flying around looking at multiheaded dick creatures slapping ass and thigh.

Spore is shit as is Darkspore. MHC you need to start playing the half dozen games you got in the last week instead of buying new ones!

It's also important to note that the 4pack@US of Darkspore is cheaper than a single copy @ EU. EA is at it again.
