Jesus fucking Christ! There are people who take the side of greedy publishers and applaud that we don't get reviews before release. Scum of the earth.

Whether or not someone likes modern game journalism, but at least they have put out reviews pointing out the general quality of games before the games get relesed.

And that bullshit excuse: fans and the press can experience the game at the same time. What a load of bullshit, why do every body need to experience a game together?

I remember a time when journalists didn't get games earlier than normal people. It started with exclusives which basically required to be nice to publishers and their games.
Therefore I don't think that would be a bad thing. Giving it to fanboy youtubers instead is a big middlefinger from Bethesda to regular journos. But it makes sense for them. We are living in a time when dumb youtube fanboys can generate more stir and positive reactions for your upcoming game than journalists. And consumers don't care about reviews anymore. Partly journos can blame themselves for whoring out in the first place, partly it's just the times have changed.

But if I read correctly, neither the journos, nor the youtubers will get early copies. And while there are several shilling sites who are "nice to publishers" there are some which portray games more objectively. Those reviews will be missed at launch.

This review policy could be considered anti-consumer if the journous weren't anti-consumer themselves

Fuck game journalists

I think the Codex should stop getting early review copies of games. It's not fair to the consumer.

Probably stemmed from a large batch of canceled pre-orders that happened after some negative reviews were published.

Simple fix, really - stop making shitty games.

Wait a few weeks after games released, plenty o time for reviews then, early bugs squashed an mods'll have probably made game playable by then wi UI fixes an that. Bit o patience an no need for early reviews, bit o taste an no need for Bethesda games at all.

Reviews were useless anyway so nowt lost.

Professional reviews are obsolete, and have been since none of the people reviewing a subject are really "professionals" of that field.
Be it music, film, games or whatever, it's always a "journalist" or - even worse- a fan.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire
Now that youtube went massive the future is "hiring" them to promote shit, at least in films the ancient reviewers had experience with the terms and technical part of film technics, the game reviewers always were fans, but paid fans so they went really professionals playing like all of the new stuff, and that gave them "cultural" baggage on the game criticism (that's called here "Tener oficio", you need the passion to be a real critic/journalist), but now you have fanboys that "didn't study", and there aren't books, so you have to play a lot to learn what is a shitty or uninspired design, taking elements from older to newer games to have a good concept of what could need a game to be better, and with that feedback giving hints to the developers for the make of good games.

It's not that they don't study, but tech in general tries to keep you away from learning stuff. When you buy tech, you don't buy a tool, you are buying a lifestyle.

Day 1 reviews are worthless in the era of the mandatory day 1 patch. :M

Boo-fucking-hoo, the pre-release copies and exclusives just moves from the shills to the another shills and nothing much changes. Anyone really sorry for the fucking retarded "gaming journalists" who can't even handle the simplest gameplay? Sooner the whole industry burns to the ground the better.

She can't on youtube.
sounds like a huge marketing hole. maybe she could review loverslab mods on youporn or redtube while wearing some of the toys presented in the mods. i'd fap to dat and not be bothered by the bethesda advertising dick penetrating my anus.
