Hellraid, Dead Island 2...
Dead Island: Epidemic closing down
September 15 - DEEP SILVER
Dear players,

Ever since starting with the Closed Alpha, and all the way through the Closed Beta and Open Beta, we’ve received a great amount of useful criticism and encouraging feedback from our players. This has been invaluable for all the teams involved in developing the game.

Over the past weeks and months we’ve been evaluating how to proceed with Dead Island: Epidemic and looking towards the future for the game. We’re sad to announce today that we’ve come to the conclusion to cease further development.

We will be leaving the servers open until the end of October 15th (Pacific Time), during which time we’ll run a very large discount on all characters and boosts to give everyone a chance to spend any remaining currency on characters and items you may have wanted to try before, but never did.

We want to thank everyone for their support, their feedback, and their time playing Dead Island: Epidemic! The game would not have been the same without you.

Signed,
Team Dead Island: Epidemic

I guess that means Dead Island 2 sucks superhard.

Considering how the first one was released, that's saying something.
Well it's made by the people who made Spec Ops: The Line, which was an absolute technological disaster. You can count on their attempt at an open-world co-op game being even worse.

Yager bowed out of that shit already, Dead Island 2 is currently being developed by "an unnamed studio".

Way of the Samurai 4
"While it only runs at 30 FPS (Frequency of Pantyshots), the human eye can't actually see more than 40 panties at once, so it's good enough. For normies."
Fallout 4
"Create your own 3D Custom Wife, watch your 3D Custom Wife die in a nuclear blast, then install a mod that turns you into Mugi. War... War never changes."
Virtual Pool 4
"I expected skimpy swimsuits and instead i just got a bunch of people smacking balls. NOT a realistic pool experience, and possibly false advertising."

I don't get it. Maybe it's potato magic but even the biggest consolefag popamolers I know preferred NV to 3.

FO:NV's concession to popamolers is that it gave them lots of GUNZ GUNZ GUNZ to play with. With aim-down sights! Unsurprisingly this is the one FO:NV feature that FO4 is definitely building upon.

(FO3 was almost retro in this regard, with a relatively minimalistic selection of weapons reminiscent of the original Falliout.)

No, but it's something they tend to like. As long as you don't dump too many choices on them at once and make it too complex, at least.

I don't think a game where guns have names like "9 mm pistol" or "Hunting rifle" could be considered as gun porn. Rainbow Six is a gun porn game for me. It has real guns with proper names and a whole simulation aspect which is not present in rpgs (because it doesn't really matter there). Popamole kids enjoy New Vegas because it's newer and there's more things to hoard, and some of them even honestly like how reactive the world actually is, with its story and factions. Most of them still think FO3 is good though, and as far as I've seen it's the same kind of people who think KOTOR or FF7 are the best rpgs ever: they happened to be the right age to be impressed by Fallout 3 when it came out, so they have subjective feelings attached to it. Consider, for instance, that nobody seems to talk about Oblivion instead, even when it was released shortly before FO3, and it has practically the same mechanics, approach and world building. Most people I've seen talking about Oblivion nowadays talk about it as some really old game, in fact. Which is weird because it's soon going to be 10 years old.

Gun porn is popamole now?

"Now"? Gun porn has always been popamole.

Because you pop moles with... wait for it... GUNS!

You're thinking vanilla FO:NV.

Here's the list of weapons from all versions of FO:NV - http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_weapons
And also keep in mind that each non-unique weapon also had at least 2 upgrades usually.
I've played FO:NV fairly recently, so my memory of it having TONS of guns is quite fresh.
FO4 actually does take it to the logical extreme.

I'm familiar with New Vegas' guns, but they all look and feel quite generic to me. I guess the bit about the number of guns is true though, just look at how many open world games feature collectibles and challenges and upgrades and etc. Fallout 3 feels more empty in this respect, while New Vegas feels more "gamey", you even have in game achievements based on ammounts of enemies killed with x weapon or damage dealt or whatever. The guns matter in New Vegas because of the hoarding and the completionist tendencies some people have, not because of the gun porn itself.
