I find the main thing preventing me from building a viable quad copter is the ability to control 4 rotors at once. My keyboard can only handle 3 controls being pressed at once. So I can't run each rotor individually, which is what you need, in order to run the front two for forward lift, the back two for rear lift or the left or right sides for left / right turning.

You could use sawblades for basic power since they require no inputs to run, then use other controls for fine adjustment.

I made a quadcopter by putting the propellers on stacks of 3 blocks. Rotator->Powered steering->powered steering->propeller

That way, the rotator provides a constant torque to keep the quadcopter aloft and I can use the arrows to tilt by activating the rotators in pairs. IE: the two back-rotators trigger on Up/Left and Up/right, the two front rotators trigger on Down/Left and Down/Right. Going forwards/backwards raises the back/front. Going left/right lowers the left/right side.

And it's kind of wobbly, so it tears itself apart after a while.

I think a better solution would be to have constant power totator propellers and then using powered hinge+steering to tilt the relevant propellers.

lol this is some seriously interesting shit

I normally disdain multiplayer games but I can't help but imagine how cool this game would be if it can have massive multiplayer with tanks and robots and airship carriers and deathstar laying siege on living castles spewing cannonballs like a minigun and so on.

Unfortunately you'd need a supercomputer to run the physics and a local network to handle the bandwidth.

warning! it becomes mmo after some playtime

Watched some videos and it looks like a generic shooter with little physics involved and form doesn't seem to affect function - i.e. robot got blown to pieces and still can fly perfectly and shoot laser pew pew.

Are there still only gunbeds in robokurwa or was it fixed? Because it was boring to fight when most of the enemies were big blocks with guns.

Besiege update:

- New parts incuding a high friciton grip pad to keep bits and pieces in place and a drill to PIERCE THE HEAVENS ENEMY KNIGHTS. They're about three blocks long and wider than one block, so keep this in mind when slapping them onto your machines.
- The first five missions of the new island. They include:
-- A "kill all knights" mission involving non-dangerous targets, some of whom are in stone towers.
-- A "kill the flock" involving you killing 90% of a flock of birds, who fly way higher than you can build.
-- The first airborne map, which has you destroy enemy balloons. They are not dangerous or tough: it's about building something that can get to them that's the challenge.
-- Another obstacle course involving yaks running up to you and going ALLAH ACKBAR.
-- "The Duke's Dear Freighters", an obvious reference to the Dark Souls 2 boss, which has you destroy a convoy of flying vessels. They can be fought from either the ground or the air, but they can be dangerous if you get too close.

Everything looks quite good, with pretty scenery, rain and fog effects and new enemies to horribly murder. But with all the new fun things to do, they can only be found in the five new missions. Sandbox and the original series of missions are untouched. Hardcore Besiege players will love it, with the new missions to wreck face in.

Yeah, loving the new air mechanics. Still requires too much shit to make shit work (50 Balloons anyone?) but you can now build a viable airship.

Also it's hella fun building a ship that floats over things, picks them up, and then just drops them from the air unto their death. :D Even managed to grab the Duke's Freighters and drag them into each other for much fun and chaos.

There's a new mini update that adds:

- Water cannons that provide knockback and can be used to put out fires, including things that are always burning like the great balls of fire you can add to your machines. They provide a small degree of lift, but don't expect to make a flying machine with them. They have an unlimited supply of water, so you can use them to keep the peasants pushed away from your big siege engines. Note that they are bound to the Y button by default, the same as the flamethrower.
- Finally there are winches. Roll and unroll with N and M. The rope is, well, rope, and is easily cut even in invulnerability mode. The rope is very long: I've tried to fully unroll it and it's more than the diameter of the sandbox map and still going. Note that they have to attach to blocks, so no attaching them directly to bombs and blades and stuff.
- Two new god modes: a zero gravity mode to allow you to make space ships without having to deal with gravity issues, and a mode that allows you to move around NPCs and broken off parts of your machines with the mouse. Use this to throw peasants into your death machines, drag sheep into bombs and chickens into your path.

Also there's been a minor overhaul of the settings menu for these options.

Five new levels:

- Odd Contraption is a surprising new challenge that can be solved in several different ways.
- Diom Well is an extra dickish level, and uses a few intersting new objects.
- Surrounded is a new way to do the "kill all enemies" thing.
- Sacred Flame is actually pretty easy after you've figure out your mistake.
- Argus' Grounds is not as heavy as it looks, and has a surprise to it.

Not much of a challenge, but the first one was rather fun.

A couple of new objects were added:

- Large unpowered wheels are the size of the large powered wheels, but unpowered like their small counterparts. They have points on their sides and on four points on the wheel part of things like the powered wheels do.
- Cameras can now be added to your machines so you can drive them around with the camera fixed in a particular way, including first person.
- Rockets are the big new feature. If you want to affix them you'll want grabbers set to the same button as launching the missile does. They fly for 0,5 to 10 seconds before exploding. The explosive force can be set from not at all to powerful enough to blow up a castle. Flight speed can also be set, as does the explosion color. They generate a surprising amount of thrust, but once launched cannot be switched off.

This game is cool. I completed it years ago and enjoyed it enough to play through it again.
