Another "update" on the site -

<!-- February 28, 2012 -->
<!-- Shadowy Figure- Raise Dead : Infinity Engine -->
<!-- For years, I clung to the memory of it. Then the memory of the memory. -->
<!-- And then... it returned. Better than it was before. -->
<!-- Pore over the tapestries and works of art hanging from our walls if you wish, Child of Bhaal... perhaps you will find a clue. But patience, ah... patience would reveal it all. -->
<!-- As the silver moon waxes and wanes, so too does life. -->

The "complete" word makes me think they will use the modders work to put out a minimal BGT game (man i'd be pissed if it was tutu, it's clearly inferior). It would probably be a coup among the lesser-luddite majority (lusers), but it's the kind of thing you need to invest actual resources to do (stealing and testing mostly), so maybe not.
It's not like the modder community around baldur's gate needs YET ANOTHER version of the game to take into account though.

Or you know, the version of BG2 with the expansion pack included? That's the name the GoG release has (and given boxart, it must have been a boxed release at some point).

Thank you for an exhaustive and extremely detailed answer. You're awarded with +1 to your post counter.

Listen, pal. Newfags don't go around talking shit about crap they don't know around here. We don't like that. No, we don't. Not at all. Do you understand? Are you following me? Now go and peruse 5+ years of past discussions on the subject and if you haven't went insane by then and still find yourself wanting of a cock detailed answer...

...then we'll just lock you up for being too fucking stupid for your own good.

You people want to see The Black Hound ACTION AWESOME GAEME BUTTAN! If you think any publisher is going to do anything at all similar to BG/BGII you are completely deluding yourself.

Have a nice day.

Why the fuck do they need to slap 'Baldur's Gate' onto it? Let those games rest in peace.

You know what would play really well on an iPad? Baldur's Gate. I'm just saying. Being able to guide your party members by touch would be extremely convenient. And from there could Planescape for iOS be far behind?

Of course this is just my guess. Other folks have different ideas, like a brand new game using the Dragon Age: Origins engine. I just don't see that happening. I see myself sitting in the bathroom shouting "Go for the eyes, Boo!" without a laptop burning my delicate thighs. And now you see that too. Sorry.

:what:

Why would they make a Baldur's Gate in the Dragon Age: Origins engine? Not only would the graphics be worse, it would probably be limited to four character parties and most likely wouldn't use the D&D rules. That would be the definition of decline.

Who wants to play an IE game on a touch screen device? I can't think of much more annoying than that.

It does take a while to get used to some of the eccentricities when you compare the game to modern western RPGs. For example, the inventory isn't shared between party members, as everyone has their own set of items on their person.

Why anyone would buy the game on Steam when it's already available on GOG or GamersGate (all Infinity Engine games were like $7 the other day!) is beyond me. Maybe they'll add achievements!!11

Most people would rather have all of their games in one service and not have to create multiple accounts.
