It's not uncommon for artists to refer to their work as their children. His music is about to leave the private confines of his circle and be set loose upon the world to be tested in the only environment that really matters. Like the hour before the battle its a time of excitement and uncertainty. No one truly knows for sure how their own creation will be received by the public.

No, I meant what does he think happens when parents send their children to college? STDs, worthless degrees, PARTAYING and brainwashing.

BT forums moving over to the Paradox forums from the 27th, existing forums will be read-only for a short while after that then will be deleted.
https://community.battletechgame.com/forums/threads/11068

Thing is, from the beginning they encouraged people to contribute fan art, fiction, maps, roleplay threads etc, which kept people coming back to the forums when there was little news of the game to discuss. Some people even put together some pretty professional-looking TROs. They were originally planning to copy over a lot of the threads to ensure some continuity, but someone turned up the below in the Paradox forum TOS, which means that anything posted there belongs to Paradox and you'd need their permission to publish/post it anywhere else in future. So there's a bit of butthurt, and a couple of 'evil publisher in my KS game' laments.

Anyone other than Paradox seeking to reprint, republish, or reproduce content posted on the Paradox message boards must receive the express written permission from Paradox Interactive. If I were a creator of polished fan content in the community I'd be pretty goddamn butthurt about that too. That said, the Battletech/Mechwarrior community are the beaten wives of sci-fi wargaming and will probably let this slide or simply forget about it in a few months.

:retarded: The "forumz must be on Paradox's site" thing is such a dumb fucking rule. It hurt Tyranny. And now they're destroying an existing community weeks before the game's release. Why, why, why?

Ok, so one can post child pornography images on their forums and then report them to the FBI.. anyone hates Paradox enough to do this? :D

Messed up the name. It's OlSON. Whatever. Dude supposedly tried to get one of the *chan imageboards sacked, by posting child porn on it and then tattling. Insufferable shitcock of a man.

In any event, as much as I think Paradox is a bunch of shitheels, any solution involving child porn is a bad one from the get go, for MANY reasons.

Back on subject: after what happened with Mechwarrior Online I've come to the conclusion that BT/MW fans are spineless pay-pigs and are so used to the IP being mismanaged, abused, etc. that this little stunt of Paradox's will ultimately be forgotten or even forgiven. I anticipate the BattleTech release itself being a dog's dinner for one reason or another, and those die-hard fans barely raising a peep about it because "OMG NEW BT CONTENT SQUEEE" (more or less what happened with MWO IIRC)

The point of the copyright notice is so that you cant force them to delete your posts claiming copyright.

It just oh-so-coincidentally allows them to gobble up any and all fan content and stick a big "MINE" sticker on it.

Also, I played the leaked 0.5 backer beta back when it leaked and the skirmish combat was shit back then.

AI couldnt handle melee. Two hits generated 'Unsteady' and the AI always tried to disengage afterwards, running and presenting its back. One had to follow and hit in melee again and would get 'Unsteady' again...
AI target selection and threat assesment were messy. It would try to finish Commandos with zero weapons left and half a leg...
AI camped but in a crappy way. Its not an effective turtler. It would get better results if it attacked blind like a retard...
AI managed heat really messy. Might be intended but I've seen several mechs overheat on big shots when there is no need. There is literally only one instance where taking an overheating shutdown makes sense and its some kind of a last stand situation.

It was pretty random, too random for my personal tastes... I dont know how the game decides which compartment to hit but this can kill bots if one is unlucky, by hitting head or ammo sections.

I also had horrible performance for what the game looks like.

2 fun things happened because of the negatives though:
I.
Very 1st fight, my squad of Locust, Urbanmech, Commando, Panther vs 2 mediums and 2 lights.
Their largely intact Medium tries to finish of unusable Commando. Overheats, shuts down, my urban mech aims to head (aimed shot is possible on downed and shutd own mechs) and kills in one strike... Kek
II.
All flamers mech of mine runs up behind an all-rockets medium and alpha strikes. Back armor breaks, ammo compartment hit, instagib... Keke

No one cares about your clanner faggot erotica.

More insulted by the implication that I give a shit about the Clans than anything else there. That being said, way to completely evade the meat of the issue with an ad hominem. Bravo!
