I liked BattleForge.
Fun for short sessions, as well as longer ones. Many choices for strategies and builds.
No idea about balancing, but I rarely care too much about that as long as it is somewhat acceptable. "Fun to play" matters more (to me).

So, if this turns out... somehow playable, I'll definitely risk a look.
