So it's the space combat of Star Wars: Empire at War, but better?

Its a good game with potential so you probably want it, but matchmaking is pretty broken atm and it keeps dropping me against some high level dudes that just curbstomp my shitty low level fleet. It will be probably a ton of fun with friends however.

By the way
Battlefleet Gothic’s visceral and intense space battles.
the word "visceral" is probably on some kind of a list of "Must use in marketing speak", its everywhere.

Urgh... Why must Eldar be the glass cannon specialist mobile faction? That is the gameplay style I like, but I don't wanna be a space elf.

That is the universal playstyle of elves. You're fucked in so many settings.
That is my preferred playstyle too, but I embrace it. TASTE THE MOTHERFUCKING RAINBOW.

By the Immortal God-Emperor of Mankind, make that letsplayer SUFFER. His voice is making my teeth hurt. Put a lasbolt to his head, someone! Make him into a servitor! Or just use plain, old promethium.

If they have to have an Lp'er talk over a strategy game of any sort then by the emperor let it be Quill18.

Fuck no, get that hypogonadal Shill18 fuck out of here.

Been playing some skirmish btw, game is fun. But needs more fleet points.

Think there's much of a future to it?
If they balance the game and add more ships/races the game could be probably one of my favourite rts games. Right now the balance is kinda wonky and you can find ways to abuse the system.

Game looks neat, but it seems a bit 2d, rather than 3d and looks like a nice sea battle simulator, but instead of sea you get space.

Also, why with all the diverse races in the WH40k universe, you always get the same package in video games? Ork, Eldar, Chaos and Imperium, couldn't they change Eldar to Tau or anybody else?

Line 3 ships with Nova cannons and hit one enemy light cruiser, enjoy watching it die or having to warp out.

Pre-dreadnought battleships. Also, lack of Z axis in BFG was because it would be a problem to represent it on a flat table. It would be different with a 3D computer game.

Nope, nope, nope. Those had castmate guns and turrets. BFG ships are clearly aping the Age of Sail gun deck aesthetics and not even the central battery layout.

[

BFG has always been a rules update to man'o'war, set in spaaaaaaaace. It's pre-/early age of sail with warhammer magic and space theme tacked on. That is why the rules and lore are so schizophrenic
No, it's not. The original unreleased Battlefleet Gothic predates Space Fleet which predates Man'o'war. Also, interesting thing is that apparently the original was much more complex and realistic, just as Confrontation was much more complex and realistic than Necromunda.

But the actually released battlefleet gothic was described as an update to man o war by Games Workshop. And it's the actual, released game the devs are basing it on
