The guy who brought us the Codexian favourite Knights of the Chalice saw the popular response to and audience of rpg's and promptly went and made an RTS. Which incidently just got released. Check out HeroicFantasyGames.com brand new Battle of the Sands. Or simply go here and download the demo. Dune II redux anyone?

The guy whose previous game has ugly graphics releases a game with ugly graphics. What a shocker. :troll:

important question: does it have concrete slabs and defensive walls?

J_C: youa re dumb

@topic: Finally! KotC2 development begins again. Still wondering how he will manage to keep the promise of making it look like ToEE, but who cares - a deeper KotC is :yeah: regardless.

Now, if only he would convert to Pathfinder...

Now can somebody please convince this guy that digital distribution portals aren't evil so that he can actually make money off his work?

KotC would probably sell pretty well on GoG and Steam compared to how it sold on his own website.

Yeah, maybe he could hire a graphic artist from the money, instead of outsourcing it to his grandmother.

Maybe you could play the fucking game (KotC) J_C instead of being a retard?

Then you'd see how it's the best adaptation of D&D rules yet (and one of the better TB games).

Heck just the demo is enough to convince most people. Just don't (ab)use crafting.

Well at least he's got a cool futuristic chiptune soundtrack.

It's kinda funny that nearly everyone who buys this will end up buying it only to support a KoTC 2. Seriously who else will buy an RTS with 12 missions and plain graphics that looks way worse than Dune 2000? It's beyond me why Pierre thinks this game will have far more appeal than KoTC 2.

Lol at graphics whoredom. Can't help but think this random rts is some kind of joke on the authors part tho.
That guy who gave us Knights of the Chalice said:
There will be an update about KotC 2 soon. That project already uses a lot of code from BotS
A turn based RPG uses code from a RTS? Hmm. Fuck it I'll dl the demo

Trash You put an extraneous period at the end of the DL link btw

Wrong, TOEE is best.
No. You know why (besides hilarious bugs):

ToEE encounter design sucks balls. Their AI and behavior variability is bad too. All the best battles of ToEE were added by the Co8 mod. The climatic battle is something you have to glitch to win and is a straight up enlarged fighter bashing you 24/7 and is buggy anyway. The final boss is a immobile summoner. Fuck ToEE scripting.

Why does this look like it was made for Windows 95 with Visual Basic? I haven't played much of KoTC but it looks a lot better than whatever this is. Dune 2 looked a lot better than this.

Dune 2 did not let you select more than 1 unit. You had to set up a "follow this unit" conga line and hope for the best

It was basically a 1 to 1 adaptation of T1-4 with 3.5 edition rules. You may not like it, but it still more true to the d&d rules then KOTC.

Oh ok, a rules lawyer. Fine. KotC is not using all of the D&D3.5 rules, but only the open game content part, slightly modified.

I played Dune 2 on Sega Mega Drive (Genesis for fags) because I didn't have a PC yet. I thought those problems were due to the limitations of the console. Well, one learns everyday.

I wanted to post "lol, 1995 called and it wants its game back", but rocks and glass houses and shit, so I won't.

Oops, I just did anyway.

As I've said previously, I believe that it has the best D&D adaptation. I just don't care, because that is not enough for me.
