Yes, I've seen multiple instances of people blowing their cover in bushes by performing different actions (or someone else performing actions near or around them). Even something as simple as targeting their allies beside them works. I guess it implies that the archer focuses his attention on the area and sees through the cover?

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Yep it works like that. For example yesterday I was fighting a necromancer and his bodyguard was hidden in a bush in front of him. For a moment I was so happy to have 60% to hit...

I traded the head of my avatar for his helmet. The thing is that my head was taken by a lowly corpse with a rusty cleaver; and the hero managed to attack only once (and miss) before dying the third time. Shame and not shame. A mixed first experience, heh.

I ended up swapping your avatar to the frontline during a caravan escort, oasis789. You did indeed take two arrows to the face, despite shield, armour & helmet! (Still alive, though!)

Still quite surprised I've only lost half a dozen bros and my core group is going strong after 10 or so contracts. Not sure if I'm finally doing something right or if the game was nerfed.. Although I am only really fighting bandits, the worst of which has been mitigated by either a ton of caravan guard meatshields or actual footmen with actual armour.

(Wish I wasn't at work so I could screenshot :negative:)

So this 3-star contract involved me fighting five groups of Orc raiders, only to climax in a showdown with an Orc Warlord.

Being clever, I waited for him in a fortress that had a mercenary group "Orc Hunters" or something chilling out with me.

22 v.s. 18, the other dudes brought war dogs, nets and the works. Pfft, this is gonna be easy, I might as well hang back and let the other mercs be heroes. Gonna be a boring, one-sided fight for sure.

Moved all my guys on the top part of the map and murdered berserkers with my ranged bros. Easy peasy.

Meanwhile the 8 of the mercs remain at the lower part, slaughtering...

The remaining 7 mercs--

6 mercs

eh...

5 m... oh, I think I saw a head fly from the darkness, let's make it 4...

So apparently all of the tough boys in top tier gear just got slaughtered by Goblin riders, which are now flanking me from behind... and the Orc Warboss just killed two of the remaining mercs with a single chop.

Screenshots, please, I need to see the authentic picture. I still have nightmares about my first (and last, for now) encounter with the charging young warboys...

The orcs are rather well done what with the berserkers laughing at you while they butcher your men (if you're dumb enough to fight them before you are ready to do so). Later on Orcs are pretty easy though imo unless you get mobbed by a truckload of warriors from all sides in open terrain. And you were dumb enough not to take that 50% dmg reduction + immunity to stun perk.
Is it just me or were Berserkers more dangerous during the beta? I think I remember them all having mansplitters (org 2h/greataxes) instead of so many one-handers and only rarely 2h now. Or maybe just RNG stuff...

RNG. In my last battle with orks 4 of 6 berserkers used 2h axes and one had chain.

So...my go-to tool for recording stuff (shadowplay) doesn't recognize Battle Brothers as a game. It simply refuses to start recording. Any idea whether the problem is on your end or Nvidia's end? rapsdjff ?

Just alt tab, start record then alt tab back in again. You have to cut the desktop recording away though in some program if you don't wanna show it.

Tried. Shadowplay won't start recording unless it's a game. FFS :(

Beggars make great arrow fodder - they are also cheaper than dogs. Brigands break formation to chase down beggars like idiots, worth it to always have 1 or 2 in reserve, they cost 5 gold a day and save lives.

About the "kill a rival merc band" ambition, if I'm careful and go after a mercband hired by a city, only they will go hostile, same applies to caravans?

So I decided I've got the basics figured out and decided that I'll go with Ironman mode. Found some bros, spent almost every cent on halfway-decent gear for them, took a simple artefact recovery mission.

Expected a couple of Wiedergangers. Got six Necrosavants. LOL

There's an option in the Options menu just for this
Its dangerous to rely on it.
It loot items base on their sort order and not worth or tier or quality.
So do not be surprised if you miss that rare weapon or armor because your inventory is stuffed with nets arrows and bandages.
At this moment low inventory space is more a artificial difficulty especially that there is no reliable way to expand it(only by event and none repeatable ambition).

I've had issues with inventory space approximately 1 times during my 55-60 hours of playtime so far... I see no real problem with the current size but I wouldn't mind some way to get consistently more. We could buy wagons for our company etc.
It's crazy how many more stuff they can put in the game, it's like the perfect base to expand upon. I constantly have ideas about additions like this

Okay the RNG hates me today :D

Started another one after the Necrosavant disaster. On my way to perform my first commission, and I get mugged by three groups of brigands, each approaching from a different direction. There are 23 of them, mix of thugs, raiders, poachers, and marksmen. I was able to retreat from that with only one wound, but still.

Played a few hours to get a feel for it and restarted - playing on veteran.

What works best for you all: Getting great gear for 4-6 bros and then hiring more or getting 8+ decently equipped bros quickly?

What Reinhardt said. I'd add: your first week goal (ASAP) is 12 bros each with any kind of hat, some sort of body armour that has >30 HP, a shield (for all non-archers), and a one handed weapon--if you have to buy weapons, favour spears. Shelling out for more equipment than than in the first week or two is a luxury. Getting a solid pool of better quality equipment--I'd call it second tier (2nd tier weapons, mail shirts, etc.)--is best done through fighting bandits and looting what you need.
