If in every single level you had to actually press a button to draw your gun and initiate fighting (as to be able to get yourself in the best position possible before you start shooting), and each of those levels had the option for you to just walk through without actually killing anybody. If you go through every stage in the game without killing anyone, you get the bad ending where the protagonist impotently decides that he should just go home and see if the Star Trek marathon is still going.

The entire anti-communist post WW2 resistance was varied ideologically, but the propaganda didn't made "hurr fascists" slogans out of nowhere. The common point all groups had was to get free from SU SoI. However, with the time passing, there was nobody left but fuckwits from ORN and smaller political organisations of similar origin(sane people escaped or at least tried to escape through Czechoslovakia in fall-winter 1945 to avoid oppression).
Obviously propagandists didn't picked various socialist or moderate right-wingers they've captured earlier for a "face" of people who opposed them because they wouldn't be hated, so they've picked faggots who commonly collaborated with previous occupant.

There's an other side of coin though.

As you can guess, as soon as any hopes for WW3 in 40's dwindled, support of said guerilla groups weakened. But they've had to find supplies, so the most logical step was to pillage shit.

It's pretty similar to Russian Civil War in this aspect because both major sides(White Army and "Red Army" - I'm not sure if it was called RA at this point) have various historians building bias for each other however all their mental gymnastics to prove their points but what public opinion gets is - "WHITES HAD SUPPORT IN ZE SOCIETY, RED MONKEYS TZAR KILLERS" or "TEH PEOPLE WANTED COMMUNISM AND COMRADE LENIN, TZAR WAS FULL OF SHIT" and avoid 2 important aspects:
1) both factions were fractured internally, which adds layers of complexity to the topic
2) people who lived in the warzone absolutely hated both sides

Especially 2nd point is very important, because it also explains the hatred for AK/ŻW/whatever some people have in somewhat more coherent way than "Hurr you commie faggot fuck yourself with a purple dildo" or "lol unpatriotic scum fuck you".

As long as some historian's publication focuses on his own country, don't even consider "positive" image of anything he'll try to create as remotely true. Only believe things they're describing negatively, because apparently intelligentsia is the most biased part of the society, and historians are the worst in this regards, but at least their books and shit are double checked by people having opposing bias so they have to present the most unpleasant stuff in the most objective way possible to push their bias into your brain effectively without being accused for spewing made up bullshit.

By the way - these guys are very good at getting free marketing. There's no better way of selling controversial game than making it as edgy as possible and trying to stir up shit in media around it. Like they know 13-15 years old will buy it en-masse in this way.
I have to admit something though. They've said they're going to make a game that is straight up gameplay because they hate modern indie "art games" and their anti-art game caused bigger discussion than any of them. That's an achievement.

That's exaclty who they were. But you can't simply erase 45 years of your recent history just like that. There's still a bunch of people who had it good during the communist years. They served in UB/SB, the army or other state institutions. They're full of communist propaganda, and they often pass those views on their children and sheep like... sheep.
