I'm sure Pillars of Eternity was someone's holy grail of cRPG incline while for me it was kind of meh.
Thre were five types of people in relation to PoE 1:
Those that deny PoE is a bad game.
Those that are angry that PoE is a bad game.
Those that bargain if PoE is a bad game or not.
Those that are depressed that PoE is a bad game.
Those that accept PoE is a bad game.

All depends on what stage you are.
