generic medieval setting

Stop calling generic fantasy medieval.

Proper medieval setting would fucking rock. European or even eastern European medieval setting (early Rus, Vikings, Baltic tribes, Holy Roman Empire, Byzantines...) with monsters inspired by European Pagan and Medieval Christian myth would be fucking awesome and anything but generic. Also with proper medieval societies and political landscape.

So you're saying you'd recommend Darklands?

I would. But I'd also like more RPGs in such a setting.

And I'd like people to stop calling generic fantasy settings "medieval" because they are anything but.

Avadon is still best Biowhore game done after Jade Empire.

Seriously the difficulty raised a lot and story is still interesting to play but this is step backward from both Nethergate and Geneforge. Would love to play low magic and fantasy game set from anciet Greek times to the fall of Constantinople too. Would Recommend Inquisitor too... but gameplay and combat are not fun at all.

I found avadon extremely boring both story wise and tactics wise. Matter of fact i couldn't get into any of the spiderweb games.
