Tacticular Cancer: We'll have your balls

  1. Having trouble staying logged in? Note: We are rpgcodex.NET not .COM. Trying to login via .com will cause issues. Make sure you are on rpgcodex.net to login and all will be fine.

    And if the Password Recovery doesn't work (there was an error transitioning accounts during the upgrade), use the "contact us" link right down the bottom right of the forums and harass us about it. Include your account name and its e-mail address (or whatever parts of it you remember).

    "This message is awaiting moderator approval": All new users must pass through our moderation queue before they will be able to post normally. Until your account has "passed" your posts will only be visible to yourself (and moderators) until they are approved. Give us a week to get around to approving / deleting / ignoring your mundane opinion on crap before hassling us about it. Once you have passed the moderation period (think of it as a test), you will be able to post normally, just like all the other retards.

Are there any remaining style issues?

    I believe annoyance is the word you fellows are looking for. Anyway, a style issue to report: on threads with triple digit pages, the page numbers get smushed around. Not sure what the proper fix for this is, but I be reporting it.

    Could DU add a "Go to forum" selection thingie on the bottom of a page again? I used it a lot to enter in other forums after I finished reading a post, now I have to return all the way back to the first part of the screen, return to main and then enter another forum.

    This gentleman's signature, for example. The second quote gets cut.

    Andyman's sig also gets cut, though I think only part of a emoticon gets cut

    is it supposed to be like this?

    I actually like how the sigs look.

    It makes the hmmm-smiley look slightly sinister, like he's waiting, prowling, lurking, hiding, doing some serious Cthulhu-shit.

    Whoa, I thought I was the only one who perceived this!

    Still, this fucks up my signature, and I wanted to put a excellent Awor quote on it.

    Speaking of max-height... pretty pretty please?

    Code:
    .bbCodeQuote blockquote {
        max-height: 400px;
        overflow-y: auto;
    }
    Can't stop people from quoting a mile-long post in its entirety for no real purpose, but we sure can stop scrolling through it all again.

    'k.

    This may ruin news / content items though so will have to see how it goes.

    Added the scrollbar to signatures too.

    Thanks! Fuck scrolling signatures, though.

    Possible inelegant-yet-template-adjustment free fix for news items, which simply limits the ability to abuse quotes to our benevolent overlords. Not entirely sure how it'd play out on the actual site.
    Code:
    .message.staff .bbCodeQuote blockquote {
        height: auto;
    }
    CSS3 dependent fix for the above, but... well... that's dependent on the client.
    Code:
    li:not(.staff) .bbCodeQuote blockquote {
        max-height: 400px;
        overflow-y: auto;
    }

    Is it possible to have the "sticky" on the left?

    Probably.

    I'm going to remove the scrolling quotes and sigs too. It gets annoying as you end up scrolling down a page, get your cursor in one of those traps and then scroll through that rather than the page.

    I understand completely for the sigs; it flies in the face of the height limit's intent of limiting hijinks. It also makes a better "trap" because of its width.

    But in the case of quotes: how is a scrolling trap you can easily escape, more annoying than one which you can't? All removing the scrollbar from the quotes does is bring the minimum amount of scrolling back up to the maximum. The "scroll traps" you can learn to avoid, or just scroll through with no effective difference... the mile-long quotes with a single line at the bottom, not so much.

    My only complaint is minor: Can we have a black and white T-Shirt Hell link? It gives me the impression I've an alert every now and then. This evil XenForo has trained me well.

    I didn't have any issues scrolling, didn't even remember you could get stuck at a "trap" until now
