    1) I don't say that FO1 is the best thing since sliced bread. While I liked the game very much, thank you, it failed to rank any number from 1 to 10 on my most recent My top 10 fav games of all time, if you know what I mean.

    2) You are right, there aren't many CRPGs that I like. Especially since the day I realised that BG2 is huge crap and Bio titles are not worth the time invested.

    3) Oh, and FO2 is indeed crap. The game feels exactly like a half baked expansion pack. Therefore, the Batman reference is indeed quite accurate.

    4) I never claimed I am a true roleplayer, Volly, but then again, you like Bio games, so neither are you.

Why do you find that bizarre? The reason why a lot of the people who loved FO1, disliked FO2 is simply because it (supposedly) didn't do FO1 justice and ridiculed part of it's original setting. I'm not defending that attitude, it's just that I can see their point.

    Btw, here's my RPG list:

    1. Arcanum/Fallout 1/Fallout 2/Planescape: Torment

    2. Everything else sucks ass :)

    6. KOTOR 2
    7. KOTOR 1
    8. Vampire: TMB

I haven't played Gothic 2 and Morrowind yet, but from what I've heard those will probably complete the top 10. I've played other stuff I didn't think worthy of mentioning here...
You cannot say FO2 is crap. So it had some pop-culture jokes and easter eggs. Is that what really makes or brakes a game ? (although, I happen to love easter eggs in a game). How about deeper story and characters and general gameplay and roleplaying improvement?

Deeper story? Are you talking about the nonsensical Vault Experiment Program or the bullshit tribals? Though I can't disagree with deeper characters--Horrigan was totally a multi-faceted personage. I like FO2 a lot, and it has a few advantages over FO1 (its immenseness, for one), but it's just not as good.

FO2 had way too many jokes and references to world events (or TV shows, comics, etc...) to a point it stop being funny and became distractive.

I have not played for years and I still remenber "Monica dress stain" joke and "Mike Tyson ear bitting" reference.

BG2 is were BioWare burried the "staying true to the setting" and gone into "we can do better", I never forget how they screwed up the Cowled Wizards (that are NOT Amn WIzardly Force) and the "Elven Queen".

And dont even bother relying Volourn ...

You ar ean iidot who doesn't know when to leave well enough alone.

TIP: When not wanting a response it is best not to ask someone not.

OBVIOUS: It is obvious you wanted me to respond which is why you trolled for a response.

You got what you wanted. Good job. :D

P.S. As for your actual retardedness, you are a moron who doesn't know what he is talking about and actually thinks that DS is the best RPG ever so your opinion is moot anyways.

And where exactly did you find a better plot in Fallout 2? I somewhat missed it. And to think that that I though at some point that the plot in Arcanum or BG2 was watered down at moments due to extreme sidequests-ness and freedom giveing.

Volourn, I would first of all send him to improve his english.

A plot doesn't have to be deep and drenched with philiosphical meanderings and such to be a "good" plot. One of my favorite stories is the one presented in Starship Troopers (the book). It was pretty straighforward, but it was also engrossing and gave you a reason to keep reading. Some (idiotic) people berated Fallout for not having a "deep" plot. So Black Isle and co. made up the hilarously overwrought and stupid EVVVIILL VAULT PROGRUM! SPPOOOKY! to try to makes things deep and conspiracy-laden. We can argue this forever but it doesn't change the fact that the Vault Program thing was just dumb. And that was my biggest strike against FO2.

    I know what you mean...:D
I like FO, recognise it for being excellent, but it certainly isn't, say, in my top 5. There are older mouldier ones that have made a longer lasting impression on me.

My point was simply that FO2 may not be as good (at least,I don't think so), but that does not necessarily make it complete crap. If it does, well, then 95 percent of CRPGs must be crap. But seeing that this is your opinion anyway (apparently), it all works out then right?

[Apologies for putting words in your mouth re: your opinion about FO]

    fixed.

FO2 is what brought on the whole 'DARKLY HUMOROUS' shit when FOBOS came around.

Nothing was serious, it was all really really lame references to everything. Monty Python and the Holy Grail reference, why you're just on the pinnacle of joke innovation!

The horrible theme towns didnt help either, every town in FO1 was consistantly Post-Apocalyptic. in FO2 it was mobsters, cowboys, ninjas, cops with a desert between them.

The tribals, eval president and oil rig and various other retarded shit didnt help either.

FO2 was FO1 as done by morons. Same character system, same look, everything sucks.

Saying that everything in FO2 sucks (apart from character system and looks) is like saying you're totally retarded when in fact you're just stupid.

FO2 has some of the best RPG cities ever, and it has the BEST role-playing in any game. Game over.

    Why do you lie?

    ------

I'm replaying Arcanum right now and the world is even more immersive than I remembered. One of my favorite moments is telling the story of how I survived the zeppelin crash to the editor of the newspaper and then seeing it printed the next time I come to the city. I'm playing as a technologist for the first time and am considering becoming the master of persuasion again just to see what would happen to the world if I weren't so conservative in the peace negotiations.

    So here's my list:

    1. Arcanum and Torment - Very atmospheric games filled with detail and role-playing options. The settings and stories are intriguing and it's obvious these games were made with love.

    2. Baldur's Gate, Fallout, Arx Fatalis

    3. Icewind Dale, BG2 + Tob, FO2, Return to Krondor, Gothic 2

    4. The Sith Lords, Bloodlines

    5. A Classic Greyhawk Adventure, KotOR, IWD2, Shadows of the Undrentide

    6. NWN, Morrowind

edit: forgot to add Morrowind and Gothic 2
    edit2: added Bloodlines
edit3: I meant to type Hordes of the Underdark instead of SotU

I really hope I can stop editing this post sometime in the distant future

Arcanum is fairly flawless for me, except for the stingy amount of points at level-up. I've lurked a lot of sites, and this top ten game thing comes up a lot--and it's cool but I wonder why--considering the general level of bitchiness amongst gamers--we don't more often see the ten worst games?

So, what are the ten absolutely abyssmal, shittiest most over-rated games you've ever played?

Hard to pick, ain't it? But I'll try.

    1. NWN OC/SOU/HOTU
2.Black & White--once you got tired of the singing villagers.
    3.Might & Magic IX
4.Rage of Mages II--( that one went to the landfill after my 10th death in as many minutes.)
    5.Lionheart
    6.Rune

Six is all I can do--it's too depressing....
