I found the politicking to be the boring side, actually. The archaeology gave me ambiguous detective work to uncover - what actually happened? What do I do with this artefact? Uncovering another piece of the puzzle was usually interesting, be it from a dungeon or from talking to people.

Whereas the ordinary world suffered from quests almost always clearly spelling out your options for you, so you didn't really have to use your head much outside skillpoint assignments. And the worldbuilding / characterizations here is not too interesting or varied.

I agree though that reaching Agathoth is pretty anticlimatic. Biggest problem is the huge disconnect from anything you've done during the game, it's the same shit always, a very linear discussion with him if you wake him.

I like the bits of Indiana Jonesing where you are working with few and vague hints trying to piece things together. Trying to figure out how to get into Zamedi is cool. Trying to figure out what the hell those artefacts you pick up in Teron are for - and discovering some are useless - is fun. What is not fun is actually getting in and finding pages of ship captain logs or whatnot written in sci-fi / modern prose detailing specifics, or talking to the guardian constructs and getting exposition. The conversation with the Inferiae woman or even Feng and Antidas is much more nuanced and interesting than your final "oh x y z happened" from Agathoth.

Wishlist? There's only one wish that takes precedence over all others. Too bad it cannot be granted at this point!

It's gameplay designed by somebody competent.

You couldn't recognize good gameplay if you were hit with it on the face, like you deserve, kid.

I liked all wishes on the thread and I like BOTH politiking and uncovering secrets AND combat. So, game will be greater in whatever direction it expands. Combat is covered by next game in salt mines.

I'll play more of the game before giving my own wishes. I do find weird that fire doesn't give DoT.

Also, seconded about Neleos and Coltan. Man, you wouldn't believe how many times I fucking reloaded my first Asassin playthrough, trying to save them both. And then I never saw them again. That's just...wrong. And no, I don't want to romance them and have gay assassin threesome. Just meeting them somewhere would be nice.

Thirded.

Yeah this is especially noticeable because of the Teron ending slides, which strongly hint that you might find them again later. Except....you don't.

Oh, and Vault Dweller, Elhoim, I would also like the opportunity to make an insane boast as Arena Champion. If a prize-fighter and mass murderer can't make completely insane boasts, then who can?

"These chumps can't touch me! I'm the greatest fighter of all time! Gimme Hamul, Plaudius and the Widowmaker all at once and I'll come out on top!!!"

This would resolve the issue of some people complaining about the fights being too easy. Throw all three of the motherfuckers at the player if they have the balls. Ideally, this would give you a special ending slide where you become immortalized as the greatest champion that the Arena has ever seen.

About Neleos, I've asked about it months ago and VD promised that "I'll see him again".
I didn't want you to simply go to Miltiades for another quest, so the way it works, if you side with Darganus who represents the nobles in a certain conflict, he'll ask you what you think of Lord Miltiades (he heard the name if you helped Miltiades but doesn't know who he is). If you tell him that Miltiades is the noblest of men, he'll accept Miltiades' offer and that would bring you to Miltiades' quest #3.

You'll see Neleos too.
Unfortunately he didn't deliver .

RPG without functioning brothel is like male pornstar without a dick. It can't be done. And no, if it was done, I don't want to see any links.

I've also asked about it 2 years ago but in hindsight it was stupid and popamole.

The only thing that's popamole around here is the lack of whores.

But seriously, it is kinda strange that there's a complete lack of sex (i.e. people talking about sex) in the game. I'd say that while the overall writing is good, even great at times (i.e. The Abyss, The One God ending) it sometimes feels a little too "businesslike" and cold at times, for lack of a better word. As a side note, I think it would be funny - and appropriate - if the PC had the option to betray the Assassin's Guild in exchange for a night with Lorenza. You can betray the guild for money, for power, and for forbidden knowledge, why not also for the smug satisfaction of sticking it to a noblewoman who refuses to sleep with "the help"?

There is sex but its more subtle than in Fallout for example (click on one of the old temples in Maadoran for example). And you want to have rape too? You're a true Codexer.

It's an alternate universe/setting, babies are delivered by interdimensional storks that answer the fervent prayers of the faithful.

How is that rape? It's prostitution. In exchange for murdering Darista, I want sex with the smug, bitchy, but undeniably attractive Lorenza. If she isn't okay with my counter-offer, she just sics her female bodyguards on me.

But then who fucks the stork?

- More options for the airship, including Caer Tor and Daratan. Park it in your HQ first, then use it to capture ganezzar (with an easier combat than other options maybe), not just break the siege. Definetly an option to get the scroll if you've secured Daratan for your faction. End game option to use the spear from the ship and surviving the ordeal. Maybe kill the first god for the other, than bomb his site from orbit? Pax Imperium was just incredible (even failing it with 8 lore) , we should see more action with it.

- The option to bring allies to the ziggurat fight, if you have a high standing with your faction. "You're not sure what to expect next, but that thing in the sarcophagus seems too dangerous to handle alone.."

- Communicating the point of no return better. Many people like me had no idea that the game was "over" once they entered the ziggurat area. A dialogue screen about completing unfinished business should be enough.

many of the various logs that give you lots of detail about what happened back then is the most boring writing in the entire game.

I disagree strongly, really liked those logs trying to puzzle out what happened overall. Rather than reading a summary of events from a historian, the POV journal approach felt very IMMERSHUNZ. Besides they're not that numerous, and the most intresting one described how Ibn Hadad fell from grace, really capturing his emotions. Speaking with the OscarDemon in Zamedi in my second playthrough was "the" moment of the game for me though.

People complaining about excess detail :)lol:) are out of their mind. If anything, more content is welcome. Here's a tip for people complaining about having too much to read:

Trying to do sex in AoD imo wouldn't work well

I like sex appeal and stuff in my media but it takes a certain style and direction to pull it off in a way that's not going to be cringy beta wank fantasies.

Well, it makes sense if you have enemy factions. People should try and lure you into ambushes and traps, even using the proverbial siren song. Maybe a Streetwise check before the deed to warn you that it sounds too good to be true.

Maybe you should be able to pay for random prostitutes, but just a fade out and a short line that it changed nothing outside of some quick satisfaction with no impact in the game. Or get permanent HP reductions to simulate VDs (lol) from particularly nasty hookers. Speaking of which, when exploring the Maadoran palace you get a line from the doctor to tell Liara (or whatever) that he can't cure her haha I thought that was a very funny line when I was super tense doing the thief infiltration/assassination mission.

When repairing items, it would be great if "Equipped" was written near stuff that you wear. Since sometimes fighters carry a lot of junk and loot around.
