Any good recent SimCity type games?

Or should I just get Sim City 4? I can't remember if that was the last one I played and was wondering if there are any newer games that are good in the genre.

Yeah, it is, though not really SimCity-like.

    Get Sim City 2000.

(It's the newest version after all so it's bound to be the best one.)

I LOVED Cities XL 2011 first hours. But as you play it longer you start to see what a bug fest it is, and how it's totally impossible for even high-end PCs to handle huge cities without restarting the game every hour...I was waiting for XL 2012 to fix the memmory leak and sluggish interface, but it ended up being more of an expansion pack, with no real stability improvment.

It's a shame, if Cities XL 2012 worked fine it would be the best SimCity-type game I ever played.

In Anno there is a huge industry side of the game, you have to mine various mineral resources, build factories, trade depots, but all this is used to develop your cities, build more advanced buildings, roads and stuff. I'd say it is a Sim City like game, but has much more depth industry wise.

Yeah, it's rather much like that. It's more Caesar-style city-building than Sim City style city building, but it's pretty good anyway, I've been playing 2070 when time permits, and yeah - it's very much fun.

4 is the newest. Also I heard about the mem leak on the Cities games, shame.

Ridiculous. How can part 4 be newer than part 2000?!

Somebody's gotta go back to school and learn some fucking math, holy shit.

edit: IMFO 2000 is the best in the series. 3000 is fun but stupid. 4 is just all-around awful.
