Also Google Play Users are dumb. The game is free to test out, because the compatibility isn't great yet. Asking Users to contact their helpdesk and that they please not rate the game on compatiblity alone till it is sorted out.

Half of the reviews: *Sucks. Doesn't work on my phone*

That Eurogamer review... Christ.

I hope they hire me to review the next Madden, so I can give it a zero out of ten and complain it's too focused on sports.

Haha, was reading the comments from Eurogamer review and came across this gem:

When I backed this I was under the impression that it would be a NEW game, and in deference to my inner 9-year old and his joy at this game (the first PC game I ever completed, not bad for a Swede who hadn't started learning English in school yet) I backed it. But a remake? I mean, there already was a remake with cartoony graphics. I know there was. Right...?

I see they upped the % of nipples dramatically for the sake of this re-remake.

Probably gonna buy it to support Al Lowe.

edit: Excellent. Amazing Narrator Guy is on board. He was easily the best part of LSL6 and 7.
edit2: Scratch that. It's not Neil Ross. Oh well.

New review at Eurogamer by some angry chick.

Must be angling for a job at RPS.
lol
Is this chick retarded or what? Yeah, making a modern military shooter where you blow foreign people up is very good but a few lame jokes is unnaceptable. I don't believe that CoD: Blops 2 got 2/10 for being racist and pro american war machine or Mass Effect gets 2/10 for being sexist by treating women as mentally challenged people but Leisure Suit Larry? Yeah, Leisure Suit Larry really needs to be updated... How about a game that play itself? It would be a wonderful modernization of a so old franchise... Everybody knows that new is always better than old , right? Oh, no... that lamp have a form of a penis... oh, the horror ... a thing that is inserted in her vagina every day by her boyfriend but I guess she never had seen one because she is probably a lesbo fascist. I never had curiosity to taste Doritos but it must be something delicious and addictive substance to the point of the lack of it liberating all the stupidity and irrational instincts in gamming journalists.

She really needs a dose of Doritos to calm down her nerves .Jesus, those supposed journalists defenders of civilization from the barbaric hordes of racists and sexists are made in clone vats now? Because she sound like John Walker during a maniac crisis, they are so samey and so boring in their propaganda. How about a kickstopper campaign to stop Modern Warfare and Mass Effect? Oh, no that would be bad because she would lose her job... How about write insane drivel about a kickstarter game ? I guess she must be some of those pro indie types, hypocrisy is a bitch.

Actually the % of nipples it kinda low compared to the VGA version. But it's still a fun remake. Even if it has a few flaws.

I'm just amazed how many people just don't get larry. While you may be able to argue that it's point doesn't fit as well today, calling it inherently sexist and mysgonistic is stupid.

LARRY LITERARY WAS A GAME THAT MADE FUN OF A SEXIST GAME.

The vision of of many T&As made people lose sight of that point.

I've always thought of Larry as being inspired by the stereotypical "funny horny guy" characters you'd see in 1980s TV shows and movies, like John Larroquette's character in Night Court.

But really, it's hard to get offended by any of this. Protesting that a Leisure Suit Larry game is sexist is like complaining that a portrait drawn by a six-year-old is unflattering. Besides, better save that ire up for the racism. Guess what everyone? The black character in this game is a pimp! Meanwhile, the Asian character runs the convenience store! He sells condoms in a variety of sizes, including "Banana" and "African banana"! Jesus ****ing Christ. What's next? A puzzle that must be solved by using a blackface disguise to enter a rap studio? Oh wait, that was Leisure Suit Larry 5.

I find it very offensive that someone would couple the name of our Lord and Saviour with a vulgar word. Whoever this person is, she should immediately lose her job for such blatant disrespect of what other people hold dear.

Nobody cares about potato outrage though. You'd have to move to Bible belt and drum up some controversy there. Not to mention that Christians are a fair game as you cannot oppress the oppressors.

Partly. Main point was though that Al basically made fun of its original version *softporn adventure* (Which was actually sexist, unfunny and pretty terrible). Larry itself didn't exist back then. So, to make fun of it he created the most pathetic charachter by 1980's standard.

Short, fat, dumb, 40 and virgin. With even then out of style 1970 clothes (leisure suit)

Al himself actually seems like a pretty progressive guy by then standards. He's also pretty proud of some of the things he did in the Larry series (Smart women, having passionate patty as a protagonist for a part of the game)

Satire is lost on this generation I'm afraid.

I really think you're giving it too much credit. It's not satirizing so much as it's playfully erotic. You're a loser because that's more entertaining than straight-up digital porn.

"Satire" requires a real point. Something that the game makes fun of. At best, it makes fun of playboys and disco culture. LSL1 remade SoftPorn, but it was hardly satirizing it; after all, it was made by Sierra only a few years prior. Moreover, Al Lowe definitely doesn't think that hard. I've subscribed to his CyberJoke 3000 joke mailing list for over 10 years, and I can assure you... the guy really thinks African Banana is hilarious.

Real example joke:
What do you call a dehydrated Frenchman? Pierre!

He even has a text-file page on his website ("Al Lowe's Humor Site!") devoted to failed pickup lines: http://www.allowe.com/laughs/book/Failed Pickup Lines.htm

I really think you're not getting the point.

And no, at least in this case it was 100% satire. There are multiple sources on it (apart from lowe) with some mentioned during the kickstarter.

I mean, the original SoftPorn was a "comedic" game as well -- again, also a Sierra product.

I think what is said is that LARRY is a satire. He is a satire on sleazy playboys. The games themselves are not especially satirical. They're just silly erotic games.

I'd say LSL1 is a big satire on the whole Lounge Lizard culture - A City called "Lost Wages", an obvious pastiche of Las Vegas... where you only spend your time in a dive bar, a crazy convenience store, which was a major conceit of the 80's when it was made. That concept of the Mini-Mart was still a new thing then - plus you have the crappy casino, an out of touch "disco" dance club, a drive-thru wedding chapel.... the whole thing is a silly satire on that kind of culture - the 80's Vegas culture, which really - even almost 30 years later - still exists.

Fair enough. Almost all of this was present in SoftPorn, however.

Haha, oh wow, yeah, his sense of humor is extremely awful, I'm surprised. His entire site is filled with the type of 1980's usenet tagline humor, or the type of shit your grandma would FWD: FWD: FWD: 10 Funny Reasons To Respect My Daughter on a Date! It's like grandpa humor, except, well... he is a grandpa. Even more cringe-worthy is that he still writes dirty "jokes". It's actually pretty fucking revolting to think about.
