So what kind of decline are they escaping when they get here ?
I thought the codex was a shelter to protect ourselves from this kind of decline...

In the Codex you have the following types:

(a) People that only care about porn, animes, TV trivia, political and ideological stuff.

(b) People that say they care about cRPGs, but only play action games, triple-A and console games.

(c) People that complain about the decline of cRPGs, but only post memes and irrelevant drivel and never have the time to play a cRPG or read detailed comments.

(d) People that complain about the decline of cRPGs, but all their incline games are games you hate.

(e) a mixture of the above.

Of course, what it amounts to incline depends on your personal conception about the nature of cRPGs and your overall personal taste. Shadowrun is a crashgab popamole if I ever saw one, but for other people is incline, part of the cRPG renascence. The game even had a fundaraiser here, with lots of money. So, the fuss about decline don’t amount to much if players have irrational and retarded tastes. It is just another simplistic narrative that is part of the Codex lore, like calling Avellone a master or saying dismissive things about the RPG Watch. They exist to create the illusion that we are talking about things that matter, when we are too confused and lacking focus to understand things properly in the first place.

Damn...
We need a new website to shelter ourselves from the codex decline...

while the banshee review from Worst Username Ever is mostly negative.Sure it is well written, but I guess he doesn't like the metagaming aspects, which can be understandable. He gives the feeling he would have prefer to see a more conventional kind of game (with loot or random events) instead of its experimental approaches due of its own design and conceptions

4/5 from a Czech reviewer

Game not for everyone, with focus on C&C, elaborate dialogues, non-linear story...
The Age of Decadence je nekompromisní izometrické RPG. Vlastně vám místo pomocné ruky usekne ostrým mečem tu vaši, nechá si ji a bude se snažit smlouvat o prodeji zpět za měšec zlatých

Haha this is so good - The Age of Decadence is an uncompromising isometric RPG. Instead of giving you a helping hand, it will cut off yours and try to sell it back to you for a bag of coins.

They should put it on their Steam page. Best advertisement ever.
