I bought one of the skill books if thats what you mean, yeah. I'm assuming you need to to unlock all the skills. Besides, given that some of that shit costs 1000+ TP, it's probably easy to get later on. I sold off my unicorn horns and shit too once I realized you can buy them there. Just unlocked the light/dark element spells and attacks too. Hopefully I can discover some combos with them.

I'm kinda torn about doing G1 DLC Dungeon, it's full of overpowered goodies.

That's lame. Maybe put it off for a new game+ if you ever feel like doing one. Mind you, it's not exactly difficult to become overpowered without it either. The game has a very soft rewards curve, so you can get ahead quite easily if you grind too much. I went out of my way to get some titles and am rolling in too much money and shit now already. I still have tons of things to spend it on, but the battles are a lot easier when you can kill 3 enemies on the first turn instead of just 1 or 2. I don't like how the break guage is scaling either. Before it only took a few attacks to lower it, which made it so overkilling an enemy only took like one more attack than just killing it. But now things tend to die before they even break, which means it's often more advantageous to just nickle and dime everything to death efficiently without wasting AP. Maybe that'll change again as I get new skills. I've noticed not all of them get extra hits vs broken enemies.

It's actually surprising to hear this is a good game, after all! Brb, ordering it on Steam.

DR, RK, I hope you guys consider writing an official JRPGCodex review of the game. :P Front page sticky and butthurt comments guaranteed! :P

I wouldn't ay it's the best thing ever, but it's pretty decent. Mind you, the game is insanely long and I've only played like 10-15% of it most likely.

? The combat isn't slow at all. Turn the animations off. An entire battle will take like 5 minutes, tops.

But I guess going into the options and toggling one things is too 'convoluted' for someone like you. Better stick to checkers.

I've had this game sitting on my PS3 for two years. Seemed shitty then.

Now I'm playing it. It's alright and much longer than I expected. I thought I'd be on second generation by now. Battles are a bit slow, but holding down O helps with that.

It's really not that good, the combat system is convoluted and slow, and the constant useless random battles are infuriating and a waste of time.

For me, the battles are not complex. The system is fun BUT:
- The AI sucks.
- Having to be selected attacks and then give the range button to see how is the character is a pain.
- When you end up using the same tactic during 10/20 battles until a new character.
- There is no escape button: or you win or crushed. Combined with the crappy AI is boring.

Fun little game. I am way overpowered because of DLC, but OTOH i am still G1 and i expect my overpoweredness to decrease drastically soon.

So far, Ellis is somehow my main damage dealer, though Leonhart is probably the one who combos the most.

I am Torn about retrying the game a second time without DLC though, to see the 'real' gameplay.

So is it basicly an upgrade over blazing souls mechanics? With inbalanced stuff left intact like agi impact on battles and underpowered mages?

You can just right click during animation in combat to skip it. So you can still choose to see new ones, but skip long special attacks.

As a side note, I think this game would be much better if it had ton of hentai in place of plot relevant cutscenes.

Hi guys. Especially Ladius LundB Ladifour
1. The in-game animations are too slow - this game sucks
Go edit the ini.
mr.png

2. The Battle animations takes too long
Hold Right click - Shadenaut
Turn it off in Option - DamnedRegistration

3. The dialogues are banal, shit, boring
Press E to skip all.

4. The DLC is overpowered
Turn it all off before you start a new game.

5. Turning them off one by one is so troublesome!
Then click the fucking name of the DLC collection to enable/disable it.

6. Why do i have to click after every line spoken?
Press SPACE BAR to auto advance dialogue

7. Is this game porn or not?
It's not.

As a side note, I think this game would be much better if it had a ton of hentai in place of plot relevant cutscenes.writer who actually cared about the characters and setting more than skipping through important details, further delegating it to generic fantasy and setting a very bright tone to a quite 'bitter' storyline component, making less attentive players unaware of the implications of this whole setup..

I tried running without Leon in the first generation. Difficult, not impossible, but very difficult since the rest of the party's formation sucks.
You can never get everyone to hit the sweet spot for turn 1 formation. In the end I swap him back in.

First thing third gen guy does, right in the first cutscene, is tries to hit on Ellis - finally somebody has his priorities straight!
And then goes onto the world with bro Winfield to find fair elven maidens and to get cockblocked hard because first elf he meets apparently has a red-haired sister in PST. but guy is persistent
Finally writing in the game rose to the level of shitty ecchi anime :yeah:
