1. You're in a desert, walking along in the sand, when all of a sudden you look down and see a tortoise, Guest. It's crawling toward you. You reach down and you flip the tortoise over on its back, Guest. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping. Why is that, Guest? Why are you not helping?

And if the Password Recovery doesn't work (there was an error transitioning accounts during the upgrade), use the "contact us" link right down the bottom right of the forums and harass us about it. Include your account name and its e-mail address (or whatever parts of it you remember).

"This message is awaiting moderator approval": All new users must pass through our moderation queue before they will be able to post normally. Until your account has "passed" your posts will only be visible to yourself (and moderators) until they are approved. Give us a week to get around to approving / deleting / ignoring your mundane opinion on crap before hassling us about it. Once you have passed the moderation period (think of it as a test), you will be able to post normally, just like all the other retards.

    1. Mods can delete and retardo posts.
    2. Mods can do it anonymously. You don't know which mod did it.
    3. There are no rules, which means that they can delete whatever posts they want, which also means that a butthurt mod will be deleting all posts of his (imaginary) "insulter", and butthurt brown-noses (like DraQ) that are in "good relationships" with mods will be also using it as weapon against their (imaginary) offenders. For example, just posting something like "Retardo this shit!" giving mods "casus belli". "Official" reason will look something like this: Retarded GD shit.
    4. You can't do shit about it, if your posts get deleted.

Maybe it's time for a new "edict from management"?

They can. I'm not certain I've seen mods actually do it.

I always know which mod did it.

Not entirely correct. There are no rules that have been posted publicly.

Speculative. Unless you're claiming there are, in fact, posts that have been deleted than it's not really an issue.

Nothing gets deleted. Technically, mods can only remove posts from public view (at least I think that's how I set it up, who really knows?). Everything is still there and viewable by people with the correct permissions.

This is the Codex. Enjoy your stay!

Ugh... yeah DU, i know that you can see what mods are doing and that technically post are still "here". But what's the difference between deleted and hiden posts, if posters can't see them? What's the difference between closed/deleted/retardoed threads if it's imposible to post in all of those? What is you problem with the word "delete"? In that old edict from management you wrote that, if i remember it right: "This is Codex. We do not delete threads, we send them to retardo". But result is always same, it is end of discussion, end of posting.

Wha.. can't you just ctr+f that list of mod activity?

This thread was cleaned up p. heavily, i think that even the message that stated that got deleted.

It will never become an issue for you anyway, because people don't like to argue with invisible mods, they just go away. Or maybe just start shitting more in "revenge".
Which means that there are no rules on forum, there are only rules (and law) for mods.
    Oh, thank you sir!

I don't delete posts. But when I do, it has a reason.

Yep. Which is why I'm not convinced that it's actually a problem.

No. gdrfooty came back to complain about it quite extensively after I had totally nuked his ass. Andhaira's complaining all the time. So is prosper. And they're pretty much the only people we delete.

I mean, whinging and all is great but there, like, has to actually be a problem for me to do anything about it. Otherwise it's just a hypothetical circle-jerk exercise. I mean hell, if you're worried about mods deleting shit because, you know, they can and have the power to do so, then start worrying about me just formatting the server the Codex sits on. Because, you know, I can.

    • We may nuke this user. Stay tuned!
I've had a bunch of my posts deleted without explanation, I've had posts edited without knowing who did it, I've had threads retardoed just to see someone make a thread about the same subject without getting retardoed and I've been told I'm "going to get banned" for posting "shitty oneliners" which is something half of Codex does.

I can respect "not having written rules" and making the decisions based on what feels right but atleast have the balls to be honest about it. Saying there's no mod abuse is just bullshit.

Deletion of posts? Surely not. Doesn't happen. That would be most un-Codexian.

Hah, love that ban warning

It's most certainly possible. I don't, however, think it's that because my shittiest posts don't really stand out from the crowd. I'm more inclined to think it's because I've caused some serious butthurt. :obviously:

I'm not trying to provoke anyone to ban me, because I like to post here, but this anonymous harassing is just stupid. If you really think I should get banned for my posting behaviour, then just do it. I'm not here for your amusement and I most certainly won't come back with an alt.

Well if it is indeed happening then it is patently unfair. Can't see who would do such a thing from the staff though, only ones that get targeted are the ones that ask for it like Andhaira, Prosper, Liberal...

EDIT: Actually I see the reason you are being harassed:

    ;)

There is quite a difference between discussing why you think AoD is shit, and shitposting.

I won't really care if curry takes the nuke, but I don't really consider him an *exceptionally* shitty shitposter, unlike, say Atheist.

Preempting obvious question, no, I can't even fathom any way Atheist could cause me butthurt, but I had him on deep ignore back in Old Codexia and now, like a particularly gassed turd, he kind of resurfaced, reminding me of his pointless existence.

Why threaten to ban curry if the likes of Atheist are still scuttling about whole and unfumigated?

I've never had a single one of my posts edited, or deleted (retardo'd, yes) and I can be one of the shitiest posters here. I mean Emma Watson pics? Who the fuck does that???

Maybe it's because I really don't give a fuck. If you'd just laugh it off, OE and curry, you two butthurt faggots, maybe it wouldn't matter anymore and it'd stop happening.

Either that, or, in curry's case, try to post something actually worth reading?

That's true. I weep when I see another of your angst ridden "I'm a 42 year old virgin...help me bros!" threads yet you do fine here.

Yeah one specifically like that but there have been others in a similar vein like the one about the Chink girl or something...kind of like an anti-Phelot style thread. Phelot has a knack of making self satisfied smug threads about all the fucking and house buying he does and that's even more annoying...

It's a highly technical equation determined mostly by the shitposters relativity to how much I notice them.
