There was a successful kickstarter for it that Codex missed, I guess.

Anyhow, downloading now. I don't have much hope for it, cuz it is real time and solo, BUT the webpage states it has a lot fo skills and that it is an 'rpg'.

Will let you know how it is in 15 minutes of playing, my download just completed.

EDIT: Note that this is a demo. I guess the kickstarter is still running, I dunno. Anyhow, installing nao!!

Interesting. Looks like a much updated Ultima (4-5) game. I'd have to read more about the skills and such,.

IF it's a problem with graphic card, you can install/extract 3DAnalyze to emulate one that will run the game

    http://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/tools/3d_analyze/index.php

After extracting/installing, Run the exe. Then choose the file exe of game you want to run, like bloodlines.exe, for instance. Press Run to run.

If the latest doesnt work you can try some of the older version. God know why but some games, like Bloodlines, doesnt run with the latest.

3DAnalyze can emulate a few cards, a godsent if you got onboard GC, or just a plain different GC that have trouble with that game.

That's not even a real demo, it plays like an alpha build. It feels like a real time roguelike. Played an archer, but i was kind of annoyed since you have to aim in the opposite direction of where you want to hit. Not sure if it's a bug or an intentional immershun thing.

A real time roguelike with no character creation, well nothing at all worth mentioning , whats the point ? theres countless similar ios games . It has 8 bit graphics but its so far from the depth of rpg we had on 8 bits machine its not even funny.

    Magical Staves
    Magic - Fire
    Magic - Water
    Magic - Earth
    Magic - Air
    Magic - Death
    Magic - Light

Chargen is you pick a class which decides a couple of starting skill bonuses and gives you a few attribute points to distribute yourself. Also decides your appearance. For magic, projectile spells work like a bow does, you just have to select them as a spell. You can also select and target a spell in other cases. Not a lot of spells in this build.

In all fairness, there isn't much of anything in the game. It's pretty much a tech demo.

Hi Mother Russia, thanks for posting our game demo!

I've looked into the issue you were having, and it seems to be at the point where directx looks into software/hardware acceleration. It shouldn't break though, the only think I can think of is if your screen resolution is smaller in one axis than the default one of the game, which I think was 1024x768 at the time we released that? Could you let me know your screen resolution, if you're using integrated graphics, laptop or desktop computer? It's a shame you encountered this issue, but that's what the demo was for :) Hopefully we can fix it, we will be adding more flexible screen resolutions for the final release anyway.

Mortmal, there is a small character creation where you choose your class which determines your starting weapons/items/skills, and you then go on to spend your initial attribute points in game. It is not a depthy character creation as support for small screens has severely limited our GUI options. Our GUI builder classes are also quite poorly coded as they were done years ago (they have been updated for our most recent game engine, but unfortunately for this game it is quite inflexible). So, what's the point? The strength of our game is the enormous world map which has seemless exploration with no hand-holding telling you where to go. There are lot's of secret locations/dungeons/items for you to discover. We have a large variety of weapons, and a nice spell system. Monsters have unique AI's and pathfinding abilities, and can also cast a variety of spells and ranged combat attacks. The game features pixel-based movement instead of tile-based which adds a different dynamic to movement and combat. The closest game to this I can find on android/ios is Gurk, which is good, but nothing like this game. If you can find similar games to this on the iphone/android then please let me know.

The PC demo doesn't have much content, as it was released very quickly (as soon as we made the port) to publish on our kickstarter page. The android demo has quite a lot of secret content.

The final game is to be released next week on Android, followed shortly by PC, then iPhone. Thank you

unfortunately our kickstarter was unsuccessful. We've had to cut about 100 items from the game (the graphics are there, we just dont have time to code their functionality), lots of quest ideas and we've had to simplify the spell system. This is because we are a 2-man team, each have full time jobs and lots of bills to pay. We've invested a lot of time and money into this game, but we need to move on to our next project. Don't get me wrong, there's still a lot of content in the final release of the game, just not as much as we'd hoped

    Hi there!

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I am using a laptop and my screen rezo is 1200X800. It's ok if you can't fix it, as I understand you need to get the full game out first rather than worry about the demo. :)

Note that I posted the same problem on the BasliskGames boards (posting as username Andhaira).

Shame about your Kickstarter. Why don't you retry? Others have retried and succeeded, when once they could not. The 'Hardcore Tactical Shooter' Kickstarter comes to mind.

The closest would probably be nethack, which is a lot different. I've played all of the others on that list and none of them are remotely similar. Some of them are using ripped graphics. I'm not sure how many of them feature a full professionally made orchestral OST either. Crawl is only for windows/linux and mac, and since you're port isn't available yet, then yeah it doesn't count as an iphone game. It's also a roguelike, which 9th Dawn isn't, so yeah, it isn't going to have the same depth in certain areas. So should all of the games on Kickstarter not expect money if their game doesn't have the depth as Crawl, which has been in development since 2006/7? Should indie devs just give up trying to make new things just because you think free games exist already on the targeted platform? You seem a little against the idea of new things being made tbh

lol. The physics engine in the engine is an inhouse 3d engine, which we use for spell effects and stuff. We're just using hype words, we're not trying to hide the fact that they look retro and shitty :)
