Since I may have went a bit too late with those last two, here is something a bit too early to balance it out/further diverge from the topic:

Indeed. I only have vague memories of that series though, since i was young... but i do remember the characters and setting well.
    My imagination worked overtime
They also didn't broadcast it for a long period AFAIK.
Also, i believe it is a relative short series.

Shit was rad. I remember always being a bit depressed after each episode because the good guys never won.

How has nobody posted the GOAT?

If you were born in the 80's you don't get chills watching that, I'm sorry about your childhood.

Dino Riders was some good shit. The toys were the coolest ever, but I wasn't an organized enough child to keep the pieces together and lost all the armor. In retrospect, Dinosaurs don't seem like the most practical vehicles for dudes with the technology to make lasers and missiles but they definitely win for style. Pirates of the Dark Water was awesome, a very pen-and-papery RPG show. He-Man was my favorite 80's cartoon, but GI-Joes and Transformers were close.

*chuckle* Oh boy how I do remember add to that Bummi and FRÖSI magazines and you are pretty much spot on Luzur. I think one of the magazines even featured a comic strip on what to do if you saw a western spy infiltrating eastern block.
As to cartoons my 80/90s were filled with mix of soviet and western cartoons and the later CN shit does not count(Cow and Chicken, etc).
My hat is off to Zojuzmultifilm, they made a lot of classic cartoons at that time.

well here in Sweden the communist stuff got translated away, so he talked about making kids go to sleep with his magic powder while on the same time joining in on a chase of a guy thats been stealing from the community food store or something, then helping policemen with red stars on their hats take him away.

also, Cheburaschka looks like a copy of Drutten och Gena, old and popular 70's kids show, i even had them on LP.

and i also remember watching Moomins and Ovide, alot.

also, dont forget this Swedish Power bear:

and early Feminist fighter Pippi Långstrump

    Syster Yster and Smallstrump:

    and Junk-Nisse and his Bro's

    Pat and Mat:

also early socialist torture programs for kids:

i still shiver when i hear the intro for Ika...

You had to open up that can of worms, didn't you?

Well, now that it is done, it would be a shame not to mention the painfully slow and extremely disturbing atrocity known as Dunderklumpen:

Skip to 6:22 and bask in the glory of all those not-so-subtle pedophilic references.

Johnny Quest was some quality entertainment. Just going on some adventures with your dad, a bulldog, and a couple of bros. No wonder the youth today feels so lost, when they don't have this shinning example of the finer things in life shaping their childhood.
