Well it's a FPS, but it has RPG elements, it's not a FPS like Doom, or corridor walker like Call of duty.

Ah, it has RPG elements (TM). Therefore "most likely" it won't be a good RPG, but there are still chances, right?

Fuck off, you're a dumbfuck Bethestard.

Tell me one indie of today RPG that is good like other good rpgs.

I don't know, I can tell you good old RPGs that don't fit all of your criteria though, which is why I said you're asking for good AAA RPGs, not only for good RPGs.

And I mean real good
Underrail.

Sadly it falls in the storytelling aspect. The writing and the quests represent the usual variety of kill things or delivering something to a NPC.
1 guy cannot create it all.

No Makabb the story in Underrail is actually great however it is delivered in a more specific way and it's not spoon-feed like you expect.

Make an effort and think for once in your retarded life. You'll be surprised how solid is the Underrail's backstory.

It will be a fun FPS with RPG elements - do you get it now?

Because back in the time there was no such a thing as 'indie' RPG, every team had a publisher, there was nothing crowd-funded.

Sure, the NPCs talk about creatures, like rathounds and hoppers, or the different cities and stations.
But the quests are not varied like in Fallout for example.

but I always like the opportunity to mention recent RPGs I've enjoyed:

Serpent in the Staglands
Blackguards 1 & to a certain extent 2
Lords of Xulima
Paper Sorcerer to a certain extent
Drakensang: The River of Time
Avadon 1 & 2 to a certain extent
King's Bounty series
etc

& there's lots more I have an eye on trying at some point.

All of those games are some 3rd rate shovelware garbage which tries to 'imitate' the golden era 20 years later.

If the games were progressing like they used to in the past, we would be getting new and innovative RPGs today and not 're-imaginings' of 20 year old games.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Strap Yourselves In
There haven't been any good triple-A RPGs in a while. The Outer Worlds is the last hope for that segment of the genre. At least for now.

None of those games are good. They're the equivalent of a B-movie.

Let's try something else then. Fallout of Nevada. Fallout 1.5 : Resurrection. Surely these will fit your incomprehensible standards?

That's like obvious but it still doesn't diminish the quality of the game. Underrail is a new classic whether you like it or not.

How many of these games have you tried yourself to make that claim?
And what you call "equivalent of a B-movie" I call "classical".

Y'all need to stop expecting 10/10 GOTY masterpieces by default. Hope for them, but don't expect them.

The premise that once there were some mythical CRPGs with great mechanics, great combat, great settings and great stories all at the same time is false. If you go by Codex favourites (as for example in the Codex top 50 thread) you won't find a single one that fits all the criteria without any reservations. If you examine them, many of those games have weak combat. The ones with interesting combat on the other hand often have only serviceable stories and/or banal settings meant to provide pretext to kill stuff and not much more. And so on. In fact I would hazard saying that the standard for CRPGs is specialization and strongly defined sub-genres.

All of them. Drakensang is by far the worst, it is absolute garbage in every way. From the generic plot down to the awful combat and snail movement speed. You'd have to be blind, deaf, and dumb to think it was good.

If you say a piece of shit is a steak does that change the flavor?

"RPGs" which I've really enjoyed since 2010
  • Underail
  • Shadowrun Returns
  • Shadownrun Dragonfall
  • Tyranny
  • Alpha Protocol
  • The Witcher 2
  • Blood & Wine - TW3
  • Deus Ex HR
  • Dark Souls series
  • Risen 2
  • POE
  • Serpent in The Staglands
  • The Technomancer
But I'd agree that there's been a bit of a drought since around 2013. Loads of lazy, shit, souless trash to wade through to find anything half decent.

If you say a good steak is a piece of shit does that change the flavor? There are people who like to talk about shit jokes when we are having a tasty lunch.
