Reminds me of Chrono Cross not allowing you to name Serge Crono. Maybe Erdrick is placed as an Easter Egg somewhere in the game, or just one of those things they didn't want because of the timeline / universe implications.

This painting lady boss is kicking my ass. I almost had her last time (orange HP) but then Jade's thunder strike failed to connect and she one-shotted MC with her finger of death and the rest with laser beam.

I first met her at level 26, it was impossible, I got it at level 29 (hard mode). Lineup Hero Jade Sylvando Serena.
Veronica has too few HP at this point and will die in round 1 or 2 very often, Sylvando is useless for damage I used him only because of his multiheal ability. You'll need mana pots on Sylvando.
pre pep hero and Serena (and Jade for and even better effect) for a round 1 care prayer (or the other one with Jade) then just defend with Serena until you have to renew kabuff and/or cast accelerate. At level 29 you should end up killing her.
The last pack of mobs before the save point (not the big mob but the 2 small ones) can have liquid metal slimes with them.

I've grinded (ground?) my way up to lvl 33 with MC so hopeful after reading your post and making a few of the 'anti-mesmerise' pendants up to +3 that I can take her. I just had a go and she mezzed MC first go and Jade the second, while wiping Veronica and getting Serena down to the red, so I 'noped' out of there and quit. Might go and do the bird boss in the eyrie first, as I left him while I explored Pnom Penh. On the plus side, 'The Other Side' is a great place to grind. Free MP/HP at the statue and the little snail things and Mannequins are very easy to kill.

The charm is also why Sylvando is so good against this boss, he can dispel it.I also did the Eyrie boss first, he was easy compared. At lvl33 you should destroy him.
I just hit the jackpot for 1 million in the second casino, I bought everything \o/
