I'm on a carnivore diet. I eat literally 1.5kg of meat per day and not much else, no greens, veggies, none of that bullshit. I could probably break you in two and you'd die.
You'd TRY to break him and then go cry quietly in the corner from a massive gout attack, assuming you don't have a heart attack trying to get out of your chair first.

People get so whiny over other people criticizing their toys.

My dream for all IE games now is in that mod I referenced a few pages back. Essentially SCS across BG1,2 & IWD1,2. If they can pull that off, and keep any additional writing (like Jaheira speaking to Arundel) to a simplistic minimum - I'll be a happy camper.

It's so telling that, of all the myriads of people that have bought BG2EE on Steam, only 20% have beaten the prologue (Chateau Irenicus), only like 7% completed the Underdark, and I don't know how many even beat the game.

Steam's usual business I'm afraid. Millennials complain that the game is oh so difficult, so I don't know.

The 2.5 update for Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition is finally here!

We’ve made over 500 fixes and features throughout the 2.5 Infinity Engine updates and now this much-anticipated update for Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition is coming to Beamdog, Steam, GoG, Google Play, and the App Store!

If you don't see the BGII:EE 2.5 update, please be patient as some platforms are slower to update than others.

There is now an OHFIXTTYR player AI script that can be used by players to fix their existing BG:EE/SoD Priest of Tyr characters to the new kit value. Existing priests of Tyr can continue through the game without issue; when they're ready to export their character they can simply assign this script and press 'D'. A 'Priest of Tyr' bit of floating text should pop up and they'll be granted some special abilities (Chaos of Battle and Holy Power).

Unfortunately, it's not a 'clean' fix. Despite being the correct kit value, their class in BG:EE/SoD will be listed as 'cleric' instead of 'Priest of Tyr', hence why we recommend doing this only before export.

Occasionally updates can take a while to distribute, especially on Google Play and the App Store. We appreciate your patience as the update populates throughout.

The only point where they're superior is on graphics, the old games look a bit ugly on 1080 screen, but you can tinker your way out with Widescreen mods (not perfect, however). And all they did was a gimmick: set the camera farther from the fist-like pixels. On every other respect, the classic version, like GOG, is the same or better.

You miss a lot of mods with EE, actively hampering your experience until God knows when, when they're adapted to EE. And then Beamdog will release another update and back to square one.

I am getting ready for another playthrough and I've decided to go with BG2EE this time. Does anyone know if SCS works well with the latest BG2EE patch which was released last week, presumably "fixing a huge amount of bugs"?

Everything else aside - would you agree that if you asked all BG1 fans to name the top 5 things they like about the game, exploration would make it in almost all lists?. So we assume they mean not just exploring a map - but actually doing things on it like fighting enemies. Well they screwed up the spawning system in BG1 so that you hardly ever see any enemies on the maps. At level 1, with Imoen, Xzar and Montaron in my party, exiting to the map east of Candlekeep, I encountered x1 Tasoli across the entire map.

Just x1 Tasoli.

It was so pathetic that I had this image in my head where my character and the Tasoli just looked at each other, threw down their weapons and broke down in tears at how shit it all was, before hugging and both retiring to the Friendly Arm Inn to get drunk and sob over a pint about the good old days: when I would have been fighting off a swarm of his buddies and running away with 1HP while Imoen and Xzar tried to nail him with a shortbow or sling shot.
This is further complicated by the fact that as you level, the enemies that ambush you level. So you have to make an effort not to sleep in the wild, or you get ambushed by enemies that give your party more XP than several maps...so do that too often and you throw off the difficulty curve of the game.

I have to admit that the difficulty system they implemented in SOD (that spawns more enemies) was good - if they ever implemented that into BG and recreated the experience from the spawning system in TUTU or the BG Trilogy mods - where there was a great number of enemies spawning for harder battles, but I wasn't over levelled for BG2 - I would say this wouldn't be such a problem.

But all of those great battles on certain maps you expected from BG1 - like the swarm of Gibberlings SE of the Friendly Arm by the ruined tower, or the groups of Kobold in the Firewin Ruins?. Not so much of that in the EE.

Anyway, currently enjoying another playthrough of BG2 (EE). I really like that the game allows to freely resize the window which accordingly scales the game interface. It's such QoL features I like to see in EEs. Needless to say, I disabled those ugly health bars and sprite outlines (eww!).

Adventure awaits!

Don't know if the latest patch fixed it - but do the Unseeing Eyes quest before going to the underdark. I did a playthrough recently and it bugged. I'm assuming it was that. Also, if Imoen doesn't appear in one of the dream sequences, remove all items from her and it might fix the sequence - allowing you to continue with the game. I'm sure Beamdog are on top of it all though right?.

My biggest wishlist items would be to restore the old UI look in both BGs, add an option at game start to disable the added companions and their content and in case of BG1, restore the old CG movies (and chapter transitions) or at least add an option for it.

You can restore the old UIs with mods. I was sceptical of this patch breaking mods and I see I was correct. It's also not clear whether the mod creators will update the mods, so it's better to not patch the EE if you are using it until you are sure you can update the mods along with it.

Well... character pathing is sketchy at best - are there any mods that fix this issue? I also had several instances of party members being stuck in one another and being unable to move at all - game reload helped.

Considering the fact that I just about reached level two of the starter dungeon - EE my ass.

Ahh I see...four years invested into a blog that comprehensvely details everything a person could want to know (or thereabouts) about renaissance era RPGs - and the page Google took me to was an argument for full party control for NWN:EE made to Trent Oster that utterly failed. I mean if you can't even manage to make a supporting case for something like that (that convinces Beamdog to enhance the game in such a fundamental way) you can't really be that much of an expert can you?.
