Wait till you fly TIE Bomber in an escort mission.
It's brutal. I think they compensate by making the AI a little dumber.

Playing Horizon Chase Turbo. It's fun arcade racer with great soundtrack. So far it doesn't seem like there's much depth to the gameplay but it's fun. I'm trying to get on top 50 global ranking but my perfect laps get often ruined by unpredictable AI cars. I like how whenever you crash the animation always spins you so you're facing forward on the track so the action never stops. There's 4 player split screen but no online multiplayer. Was surprised it runs well on my shitty laptop that's bellow minimum configurations without lowering any details. And the soundtrack is so good I'm now listening to it while I play other games.

The plot was fairly interesting since it was a lot of politics centered around deceit and treachery, although the translation was hilariously bad sometimes. There were a lot of names to remember, too, so it took a while to realize who's who when going through the cutscenes, but the writing definitely did not pull any punches with the tragedy and the music does a great job building the mood.
The PSP version has a much better translation that does the story justice.

More thoughts on TIE Fighter:
I feel like a noob with the joystick.
This game has the longest tutorial I've ever seen, 28 missions + training course.
When the guy asks you to destroy a target quickly, it translates to: "Drop everything you are doing right now, disregarding your own safety, and kill that target within the next 5 seconds or else the mission fails!"
And the A in A-Wing stands for Asshole.
:shredder:

I don't think the space sim missions are really intended to be tutorial past the first one or two for each craft. Some of them are significantly harder than most of the early campaign missions. I expect they are there so that players can preview stuff like T/Ds, T/As and Gunboats long before the campaign introduces them, experience/practice with some of the various different mission types, and take a break when they hit a wall in the campaign.

Also note that the difficulty settings do very real things in terms of new enemies/different enemies and new objectives. If you're on Hard lots of missions get way harder and bonus objectives start demanding silly shit like dogfighting in a Tie Bomber, but if you're on easy and just go straight for the primaries you tend to be able to unload and finish the mission pretty quickly and cleanly without needing to do much to help the AI on your side finish what they are supposed to be doing.

I'm playing on Medium and did all the training missions first. The early story missions were indeed a cakewalk compared to that. But no matter how easy they turn out to be, I never really feel competent. It's getting better though. :dealwithit:

Let's take a look.
Here's the PSX version:

It's a lot more coherent, that's for sure.

I am playing Majora's Mask. I made it out of the second dungeon, realised there are only four. This has diminished my interest in the game. It's a good concept, I get it, not sure if I'll follow it through or just jump to a different Zelda.

There's a patch for the PSX version that replaces the script for the much better War of the Lions one, without changing the gameplay. There's an added bonus of not having slowdown like the PSP version.

The problem with the PSP translation is that everyone and their mother, whether commoner or king, naive youth or wise elder, talks in extremely flowery Ye Olde English. Nobody has a distinct voice. I felt nothing for any of the characters because of how unnatural character interaction felt.

Though it's still miles better than the original PS1 version, which is barely a step up from a machine translation.

Finish it. The last two dungeons are among the best in the series. Also get all the masks.

Fallout Tactics using the power of PUNCH!! is giving me a new appreciation of the game and things I haven't seen before in my previous sniper runs. This is mainly due to the fact that hand-to-hand gets criticals coming out the wazoo and some of the floating text for criticals are hilarious. For example, one guy got punched in the groin (completely random critical) and the floating text was "in high, squeaky voice - OUCH!" I admit I burst out laughing at that one.

And the piles of bodies... Some times, I can't even click on some of the bodies to loot them, especially when Brahmin are involved

Playing Last Bible III for Snes after finishing LB2.

LB2 itself is what you'd expect from a Gameboy RPG, albeit with some nice twists here and there. Only disappointment is that the final dungeon is about as long as any other dungeon...3-4 screens? Then it ends and that's it. Esau is a pretty likeable character, a prototype for the "father and best friend" party member that's popular these days.

Last Bible 3 is a mix-up between...Earthbound, Arc the Lad 2, and SMT. If you know these games and your interest isn't piqued, I don't know what to tell you. I'm liking this game a lot.

Warcraft 3 as it's the last of three I've never managed to finish single-player campaign due to various time stealing reasons.
Realms of Arkania 2. I trust Roxor's word and "finished" RoA1 on youtube.

I swear, I tried killing Satan just for him to have 3 phases in his boss fight

I'm curious to know what game you're talking about, as it seems there can be more than one game that fits the bill.
Binding of Isaac Afterbirth. It's really the only videogame I can play these days. As much as the codex shits on randomized gaming, a roguelite like this gives me a large amount of replayability with different encounters, level design and items that changes my play style every time. It just pisses me off when you get so far to die against a somewhat difficult boss and to restart the entire game.

I went and played A Link Between Worlds to completion in less than 3 days, and I've enjoyed it throughly. I prefer the GBC style of Zeldas, the one with Lock & Key, so this was the best Zelda I had played in a long while :D It's open in the sense that you can tackle the second round of 7 dungeons in any order, and many utility items are unlocked from the get go. They also keep the story and cutscenes to a minimum, it's mostly dungeoneering and multi-room puzzle solving. It just works for me!

Now coming back to Majora's feels like a chore.

Finished Vanquish , mediocre mostly and certainly not as good as some people claim ,sure it's supposed to try and make you use your speed and skill and not just hide behind walls like most TPS these days but the areas are pretty small and don't let you utilize your powers as you would like. Not a bad game but not good either.
