The Swapper is an excellent puzzler. Never feels cheap nor does it overstay its welcome. Haven't had this much puzzling fun since Talos Principle, speaking of which, it's time to start that game's DLC.

Using Temple+ only. For some reason spell graphic effects stopped working completely (the spells work, they just don't have any graphical representation). Any idea of what might be hapening?

It's so depressing we never got more games based on this combat engine. It's the best thing ever.

IIRC this particular puzzle kicked my ass and took forever. Great game.

As always, the great games are killed by bugs.

My first game with dwarves got killed by bugs, so I restarted as western religious fanatics. Just when my holy Jihad started to gain momentum, this shit started to happen.
It goes flawlessly for first first 5-10 turns, and only after that the game shows it's true face. A bug face.

Edit: Men, windows version is the thing. It recieved some patches, unlike the dos one. And the saves are compatible.

These fights with 20 bugbears in the Earth Temple area are really boring. As good as the combat system in this game is, I had forgotten about its (very) poor encounter design.

Also, even with the fixed .dll and Temple+, these battles with 15-20 monsters casting spells from fog seem to cause many crashes. Maybe it's something related to scripting.

After almost 23 years, I decided to do a replay of C&C with a fan patch. The gameplay is still fun and addicting, soundtrack by Frank Klepacki is superb and the FMV's, while being cheesy as hell add the charm to the experience. GDI has really an upper hand when it comes to tanks, and later on when we start making Mammoths you can really end up skirmishes quickly. The last level with Kane nuking twice my base was a nice touch before I saw the finish line. Now it's time to conquer Africa with Nod brothers.

Not quite done with Civ2 I decided to try the old WW2 scenario it shipped with. Had quite some fun playing as the Axis, liberating everything in sight to make the world safe for humanity. It was quite a casual experience playing as the top dog but it was a nice way to relax for a couple of hours.

As I was happily landing in Washington and New York to eliminate the Allies for good, I suddenly got the message that the scenario would end in five turns! Sneaky Stalin still had a hefty bunch of shitty cities in the Far East, so I naturally had to put everything into conquering that yuge territory. The alternative would be to let communism survive and fester and that would simply tarnish the jolly good experience of the entire campaign.

Above is the result of my mega-blitz where I rush-built engineers and slapped down railroads, called in every damn rifleman in Europe connected to the railgrid and threw them against partisans and other rabble to free up moves for the heavy hitters (howitzers, tanks) so they could focus on wrecking the walled cities. Worked quite well, but it was a tight race against the clock. Not sure if this was on the last turn or the second last, but I didn't want to take any chances so I brought in a trusty paratrooper bro to finish the job in style.

And there's a sight for sore eyes! Had a blast throughout the game, the AI is dumb of course (although Churchill zerg-rushing coastal fortresses with battleships was amusingly authentic). Still, I like how the game can give you a nice rush during the end-game when you only have a few turns to complete your work. The scenario can offer you a nice challenge too if you're more of a dedicated player since you can try your luck as Franco, Worst Turk and the like (some sickos even win the scenario as the fricking neutrals).

Nod campaign in C&C feels more varied and harder compared to their adversaries. The best tactic is to use GDI technology against them, since the medium tanks and later on Mammoths are massacring our forces so easily. I really liked the ending with the nuke option left to the player. And I never liked Seth, good riddance I say.
