I think laclongquan is the only genuine Tessera fan. The rest are just trying to rile him up, a futile effort, almost childlike in its innocence. What use is an one liner against a man who's been working on a patch for Jankire the Wonkerade: Clunkylines for years?

It will get better.

Remember to listen to the radio and watch the tv for a lot of fun.

What Clan?

Toreador - I used the quiz to pick it with the only criteria being that I didn't want to take Nosferatu or Malkavian as most recommend avoiding them for a first playthrough. Right now I'm specialising in guns but Jezebel Locke grinds me into a fine paste so I may be gimped.

Somebody didnt listen to Jack in the tutorial :P But a high Celerity + Auspex Toreador should be a decent gunner. You also will get access to better guns as the game goes on. Remember to check at... an old contact :P

Speaking of better guns, FreshCorpse, have you checked in with the fat black dude merchant in downtown to upgrade your weapons? I think you can also get a decent submachine gun from the mobsters on a different floor of the hotel where you find Jezebel.

I have the shotgun now but haven't gone back to try it out on Jezebel. Just read up on celerity - didn't realise it affected rate of fire. That might help.

Haven't found whoever that is yet. Will look out for the mobsters if the shotgun doesn't work.

No one who hasn't played this game unpatched should be calling VtMB wonky. Seriously, without the unofficial fixes it's a nightmare at times.

If you're using Wesp's patch plus, Fat Larry is in an alley near the church/nightclub. Originally he was harder to miss, but I don't fault Wesp for changing it since the guy is selling stolen merchandise from the back of his truck. You'll want to pay him a visit to upgrade your armor among other things.

I found him thanks. Upgraded to "heavy clothes" :D, which I suppose is at least in keeping with the game world.

I've effectively turned on god mode for all combat at this point. There's a scary mansion which while having great environmental storytelling is full of bullet sponge enemies and I ran out of bullets in the third room out of maybe 16. It's a shame because the storytelling is excellent.

This matter, Fat Larry, once again demonstrate my problems with Wesp and his fans. They just dont give a fuck what developers already put thoughts into details, and cut details, and just do whateverthefuck they want with half an excuse.

Why do Fat Larry situated in the street to sell his stolen merchandise? Why does he did his thing THERE?

1. Because the car park not far from his place is the ground of some of his customers, which are the gangs. He's there because it's easier for customers to buy his shits and sell him stolen stuffs. Basic econ thing, yes?

2. He doesnt have to worry about cops busting his ass during that time because town is quite unsettled with various things happened, like a lot of normals die of a "disease" and police are busy finding the serial killer than to bust a fence, speaking of which it's normal practice for a fence to buy off the local cop anyway. In some case the disease fighting people also drop into town. WHO GIVE A SHIT?

3. Also, exactly because it's unsettled time that he's being there is probably safer than in a corner, sight unseen. If he's attacked by a monster from a the sewage at least there's people notice him and call police.

4. If he move elsewhere whom would he sell his stuffs to? The new place where he's between church and night club? The few homeless bums? The passerby? The clubgoers who are there for fun not guns.

But what else would a modder do? "I am god and will do whatever the fuck I want in my mod". Except that he never said his thing is a mod, but a "patch". Ooops?

You're complaining that a fence got moved from the middle of the street into a back alley, and making up justifications why it's actually a lot more logical to have him stand there, peddling illegal goods out in the open :D

"Like, the cops don't care!" - do you even hear yourself?

This change is just in the Plus version. Basic Patch (GOG installation) has Fat Larry in his original location.

Maybe we need to start a new thread to debate the relative merits of different potential positionings of Fat Larry

I choose quantum larry

add him to every map, as well as two copies of him at the beginning and end of grout's mansion for 4 larries in total

that way we have all the storytelling potentials covered
