You have to beat it once on easy mode.

I got the last 2 cp by doing Death of Humanity/ Defeat DK Kayblis endings together. Also ended up crossing 700 cards by finally getting Galtia, his apostles, and random cards I was missing like Katyusha, nude Elena Flower, the mini-Pigus and bad end Maria. Difficulty 2 DK Kayblis was still pretty tough...

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
I got naked Biscuit to drop and didn't do cliff route, I did have naked Heidi though.
Miko Sill probably requires you to do the base event that gets one Sill card and then do the events in RedEye attack that give Sill cards, pretty sure it's the last card.

I know how to get miko Sill, it's from Helman 2nd Campaign. It's just I picked Shiela instead of Sill.

Are we sure RQM English is coming this year? If not, life's too short and I might go ahead with machine translation.

Mangagamers is releasing Sengoku before it. And given how long Evenicle release has been delayed, I wouldn't expect Magnum this year.

I'm pretty sure that Maria is actually still translating Magnum as of this moment (though I think she finished regular Quest). I got the impression that they were thinking of releasing Sengoku and Quest together, like 5D and 6, but with Sengoku fully translated and mostly edited it seems likely they'll do it sequentially. Mangagamer is competing with themselves when they release too many games from different developers at once (hence Evenicle's delay) so any prediction on release dates are optimistic - the more conservative, the more realistic.

Any idea how the other Rance games sold? Have to wonder how much of a market there is for SR now that the free translation will probably be a decade old by the time its released. Don't know if they are expecting most sales to come from people who've already played it and want to buy it or if Mangagamer audience encompasses more people than all of the hilarious Rance memes have reached.

On top of the list that Haba posted, Mangagamer recently released the results of their annual licensing survey for 2018 - a user poll where people can vote on which series they want Mangagamer to try to acquire or focus on the most in the coming years. Sitting right at the top (for the 3rd year in a row) was the Rance series.

My own garbage opinion: I honestly don't think Mangagamer realized what they were getting into when they first committed to Alicesoft and the Rance games. Mangagamer was founded with the intention of translating visual novels into English. Games with little to no gameplay other than a few dialogue choices - I'm honestly struggling to think of one non-Alicesoft game they've released whose gameplay (if it exists) isn't total shit. But visual novels are a lot easier to put out than, say, Rance 6; they're cheaper, can be released quicker, require less testing, and generally require less marketing. And this kind of release is what they've been set up to do. That's why the first game they wanted to release from Alicesoft was Beat Blades Haruka - a mostly visual novel with a few simple battles and porn scenes in between.

But now Rance is their top seller. And it requires a lot more work than they're used to to put out - plus I suspect the crossover on Rance fans and visual novel fans isn't as wide as they'd like (there's some, but you won't find a ton of VN fans on this board for instance).

Which is all to say, get used to delays in between Rance games. If you look at Rance VI + 5D's total sales (which Mangagamer has not released outside of those yearly lists Haba provided) I have no doubt it was their top seller for that period. And yet it might be 2 years before their next Rance release, with no particular rush to their development (and plenty of delays for a game like Evenicle, so they can focus on releasing VNs). They're a visual novel company who all of a sudden found an eager fanbase waiting for complex rpgs with porn sprinkled in.

Mangagamer does "complex" games out of passion and simple porn games to keep them afloat. The sad thing is that when looking at the effort involved, translating games like "Rance 6" is simply not profitable. And that is even with fans doing practically (and often literally) free work for them.

Things may get harder for them too. Also in the results of that licensing survey are other actual rpgs, like Eushally games (makers of Kamidori Alchemy Meister) and the Bunny Black series. They fed the beast with the Rance series. And now we pervy gameplay snobs want more.

That doesn't make sense to me. Let's assume they sell 10k copies at $20 apiece. That's $200k. And they aren't paying the steam tax on their main site games, so that's better than a Steam game with the same numbers (IIRC Steam takes 30%). Assuming a 25% cut to original developer and another 25% for overhead/tax, that still leaves them $100k. Would it really take two people (one translator and one programmer) working a 40 hour week @ a salary of $50k each over a year to translate Rance 6? Especially assuming that they are working from home and all? Even then you could probably find plenty of weebs in poorer countries willing to translate something good like Rance for much less.

For reference the steamspy numbers on the previous page are looking above 10k copies for lots of games, and the Rance 5/6 bundle costs $35 (and Rance 5 is waaay smaller than Rance 6). If we went with 20k and $35 that's $350k profit before paying the people who did the translation.

That said I can certainly see how quick games that take 2 or 3 weeks to hack and translate could be more profitable if you churned out 20 of them a year.

Assuming you have a translator that churns out 1500 words per day, since it is Japanese. Could be twice as fast, but then we'd probably need to factor in more time for editing and proofreading. Estimating the words per line to be equal for both of the games.

Script of eden*
8862 lines
115206 words
~77 days of translation work

Lines are not context relevant, can be translated like a book
Linear routes, no extensive testing required
No major engine porting issues

Script of Kichikuou Rance
62490 lines
812370 words
~541 days of translation work

Lines are context relevant, have to know where the strings appear in the game (apply a multiplier to time)
Multiple branching routes, events can appear or be missed (apply another multiplier)
Potential major engine hacking and porting issues

I trust you see the issue here.

You will also have to note that eden* could have two versions of the game for sale, one with the nudies and one without for Steam. Meanwhile Steam wouldn't ever accept Rance, even if he was neutered.

That said I can certainly see how quick games that take 2 or 3 weeks to hack and translate could be more profitable if you churned out 20 of them a year.

It doesn't need to even be twenty titles, let's say five titty-game releases in a year while you'd get one Rance per year. Just look at it from operating profit perspective and from risk perspective.

LUL, apparently Steam has some risks involved as well:

http://blog.mangagamer.org/2018/04/...etals-maidens-of-michaels-removal-from-steam/

this is what we know: A Kiss for the Petals: Maidens of Michael was removed from the Steam storefront by Valve staff, we believe in response to a malicious and patently false user report. We do not know if or when the game will return to the platform at this time; it is very much out of our hands.

That seems quite low. Again, we're assuming someone hired to work 8 hours a day 5 days a week. That's almost 500 minutes a day, surely a translater should be able to handle more than 3 words a minute, even 6 words a minute? I can play these games reading faster. I'd expect 2-3 lines per minute which is more like like 20-30 words per minute according to your ratio. Even cutting a third of that off for editing leaves us several times as fast as you estimate and Rance isn't exactly Japanese Shakespeare, it's pretty basic and easy to understand in its use of language. Furthermore I was splitting in half between programmer and translater, in reality I'd expect the programmer to take a few months at most (considering information on how to hack Alicesoft games is widely available) and then we have at least 20 months of translater man-hours.

I started RQM. Yeezus I missed this ero in Rance X. Suzume make everything plus lewd.

The machine translation is not too bad, using Atlas v14 now:

Although Lia is still the rear, and babe -> child

So far RQM feels exactly like a game made to follow Sengoku Rance, whereas Rance X felt too distant.

Translating is more than just typing the stuff out as you read. Often you'll need to look things up, reference your previous translations to make sure the tone is the same for characters etc. And Japanese is notoriously difficult to translate well.

I think on a good day a professional English translator can do 3000-5000 words per day, but I doubt many can sustain it.

But anyway, the exact translation rate is not relevant, it is just a rough number to show the difference in scale.

Kanami knows Rance the best and sees him the most clearly. She guards him when he's sleeping and presumably has watched him H all the girls. Also, made for bullying

Lia -> Great H, genuinely loves Rance and believes in him more than anyone else (haters) and is a super-talented woman

Pastel -> Great H, has similar temperament to Rance, making them a good natural match, also a bit screwball motif. Sort of like a mix between Lia and Shizuka. It doesn't take much to make a Kalar Queen hot.

Shizuka -> playing hard to get is a classic strategy; also love triangle Rance -> Shizuka -> Nagi

Copa -> actually sacrifices a lot for Rance without asking much in return

Suzume -> YOLO

Miracle -> Has an interesting personality, stylish, kinky and great tits

Kouhime -> Hard not to love someone when you've known them almost their entire life and seen them grow up

Rizna -> has a bad fate -> hot

Magic -> has a cool dad

Sill -> "I've grown accustomed to her face"
