JVC is strange. He's so willing to talk about old stuff, not like you'd expect from someone who's left it all behind. Or maybe it just feels good to bask in your underground celebrity status, how many young gamers care about him anyway

I think JVC feels he missed the boat with the whole online MMORPG thing 20 years ago, and therefore he no longer gives two fucks about trying something new. He'd rather rake in the cash from low risk mobile gacha cash cows and spend the easy money on his fast cars, no fucks given.

I remember that JVC also worked on a Command&Conquer game a few years ago (might even be through a studio called Bioware something) and the projet got tanked by EA after a year or so.
I don't mind if he fucks around on mobile, the dude played his part in the computer game design orchestra, and he played fucking well.

Or maybe he still likes RPGs and is proud of what he did but is not interested in doing yet another Might and Magic game. I mean he did 9 of the RPG ones and 4 of the strategy ones. What else could he possibly add to it at this point?
