That feeling when you don't have a good RPG you're currently playing or to look forward to

Crispy over here pretending he's discerning but I've seen his Steam profile where he says if people keep making fun of him for all the many hours he's sunk into games, he'll make it private.

Opposite problem for me - too many games that I want to play (both RPGs and not), not enough time.

Well he admitted he is currently playing Fallout 4, so any pretense of high standards is blown.

no wonder he can't look forward to anything anymore, what could compare to that

When everything else fails, larping in OpenXcom is the way to go. That usually keeps me going until the next RPG fix.

(Not sure what I enjoy most these days, playing that damn RPG or reading the Codex after the playthrough)

how can someone hate themselves enough to play FO4

Tim Cain did it for dozens of hours. The coward made his Steam profile private so lookie-loos like me wouldn't be able to see what he's been playing. :argh:

Crispy existential crisis thread part 2.

No, I've always felt this way, even as a kid. All I'd do while sitting in class is daydream of playing whatever cool 80's CRPG I was currently working on, coming up with strategies of how to beat the next boss or how to obtain that cool suit of armor or weapon that was just out of reach.

If I didn't have that to look forward to, my grades would slip, I'd mouth off to my parents more... hell, I think I'd even be more prone to get in fights with other kids.

Not really, but the psychological effects of not looking forward to booting up some classic game and really enjoying it were real and palpable. I'll probably be the same way until the day I die.

You should probably see a phychiatrist. Those issues sound severe and have not yet been diagnosed. Get well, soon, friend.

"Getting a new hobby" is probably not a bad idea. It seems that the important thing is that you have something to look forward too. I suggest finding a hobby that you can fully enjoy on your own, so no PnP (Though it seems you're already into that) or LARPing.

I get the same feeling,it is a mix of sadness, depression and endless boredom. Replaying old games get old after doing at least twice for every game you find interesting. I am replaying Geneforge 2 for third time, deus ex original for 10th time and thief trilogy for.....i lost the count time, same thing about the MM games. People that say read a book....well there is not an endless amount of good writers to chose from.

Does anyone else get legitimately depressed

I thought Jaesun was the fag?

Anyhow, I have to echo octavius. There are hundreds upon hundreds of cRPGs to play, readily available. The people who LOVE cRPGs actually have many more games to choose from that the current wave of "I love RPGs!" crowd of Bethesda, BioWare and CDPR fanboys.

That is true....until you finish all the games you are interested in. Not every old rpg is a good one.

Become a father.
It is not your choice,it is a divine will!
